Beads of sweat formed on Taiga's brow as he listened for any kind of reaction from Kenchi from around the corner.
He heard murmurs as Kenchi began to read the poem, and suddenly he felt an overwhelming wave of regret. And then... Silence.
For just a moment however, as the sound of a few chortles reached his ears. And then... It broke out into catastrophic
laughter. "You've-Ahaha! You've got to be kidding meee!" Taiga felt his face heat up, and he felt his pride crumble.
He whipped around the corner, his face painted a bright red. "HEY! IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY, YOU ASS!"
Kenchi laughed even harder. "You're joking, there's no waaay! You've told me a hundred times you're not gay! but i mean i wouldn't mind" Taiga realized he'd need proof. He didn't know why Kenchi thought he would think it was a real confession without some kind of spontaneous and swooping kiss scene. So, in the heat of the moment, Taiga
grabbed Kenchi hands and went in for the kiss!

Again in a sorta AU thing...?



Sen never thought that Orpheus would have, even in a thousand years, liked them back. (They did find it rather hard to show that they were interested in him, after all.) After giving Orph their (in their mind, shoddily-made) paper crane and poem combo, they found it more difficult than ever to look at him. They were fully expecting to be rejected but.... That didn't happen. Instead, Orpheus (who.... Had tears in his eyes???) leaned down and hugged them replying that he liked them too.

xxxxxbennett didn't know what to expect after suggesting the idea of a date to charlie. surely the other kalon had already realized how head-over-heels he was for him, and figured this was coming. ben always dreamed that charlie would smile and say "yes', and the two would ride off into the sunset... or, well, do something equally corny.
xxxxxhe didn't expect this.
xxxxx"is this some sort of joke?" charlie asked, his head cocked to the side. "i mean, benny, i know you think asking people out as a joke is funny but... y'know... this is a little bit low. the poem is cute, though." he giggled a little. "you shouldn't have gone out of your way to do all this. the chocolate, the roses... it's a lot for a prank, don't you think?"
xxxxxa prank? bennett blushed. how could he tell him that it wasn't a joke? the typically boisterous kalon blushed. he was frozen, locked into place by his own embarrassment. "ben?" asked the other boy, concerned. "are you okay? do you actually... like me?" charlie's face turned red. "i-i mean, i just d-don't know what to say!" bennett didn't know, either, so he did the only thing he could.

Vivian picked up the tray of carefully cut cookies and wandered over to the oven. "Whatcha doing?" Astra called out from the other room. From the sudden yell, Vivian jumped. Dropping the food everywhere. "noooooooo, Astra! I dropped my cookies.." Vivian said, pouting. She frowned and gathered up the now ruined raw cookie dough and placed it onto the tray sadly. She smiled slightly when Astra came into the room. Astra sighed and put out a paw to help Vivian up. "Come on, let's make some more.." Astra said cleaning up the ruined cookies. She and Viv made the cookie mixture and Astra put them in the oven this time. The pair of them lef the kitchen covered in flour and sugar. Their fur was covered in flour. "You're so sweet.." Vivian said turning to Astra. She hugged the other Kalon thanking her for helping. Towards the end of the night they sat wrapped up in a blanket eating the cookies and drinking milk. "Goodnight Viv~" Astra smiled as Vivian fell asleep on her partners shoulder. They fell asleep on the couch in each others company.

Using Bella!

The day starts out as normally as any other only, as she knows, it is not an average day in any sense. Tomorrow is Kalontine's Day and she has yet to finish the gifts for all of her friends and family. Already she's bought bags, name tags, heart-themed filler paper, personalized cards, and craft supplies to make glitter jars. The final piece in her grand plan is to have homemade cookies for everyone to enjoy. The only issue is though she may try her culinary skills are somewhat lacking. It takes quite a few tries to get something right which wastes supplies and therefore her time and money. This year, though, she is determined to make a great batch of cookies without too many redoes.

For her deserts she selects sandwich cookies. At first glance they seem simple, they simple require a double serving of cookies with a flavored filling to make the two sides stick. If she wants she could even do a bit of frosting decorating on the top cookie bit to liven up their plain look. With her goal secured she starts off to the store for supplies. Bella purchases cookie batter, flour, a few sticks of butter, a pack of eggs, a small bag of sugar, two cans of frosting, and food coloring. There's no better way to say you care than by making good food from scratch!

She prints out a copy of the recipe and steps to tape above the stove. This way she is able to refer back to it at will without dirtying the paper with food or spilling something on it. As a final thought the radio is turned on to her favorite station and the preparations begin. The batter and flour is tossed into a large glass bowl while the oven preheats. She tosses in the softened butter before cracking an egg on the rim. A bit of shell falls in on accident but she is able to snag it out with a nail before stirring it all together. Her hips rock to the beat of the music playing behind her and she whispers the lyrics to herself.

There's a beeping from the oven-- finally the preheating is done. At present it's ignored in favor of rolling out the dough on the flour-coated counter. Once it is rolled to the correct thickness she uses a heart shaped cutter to make dozens of patties. They're placed on a pan and put into the oven without much thought. She neglects to put on a timer, however, as she's now preoccupied with making the frosting.

Time crawls along as she struggles to make the frosting. Her eyes squint to the recipe for some sort of guidance. Bella divides the frosting into three bowls and drops a different amount of food coloring into each one. This way each person gets three differently colored cookies. Finally she returns to the stove and gazes in only to be hit in the face with a wall of smoke. Coughing, she fans it away and uncovers the burnt cookies. An expression of horror befalls her. How could she have burnt them?

After taking out the sheet she tosses out the cookie halves right into the garbage. There's nothing else to do except make another batch. The frosting bowls are covered and set aside to make room for the new dough. She rushes through the process but makes sure no other mistakes are made. This time when she pops in the heart cookies she sets a timer and waits. They come out a gorgeous golden color; they couldn't be any more perfect. It takes only a little bit of time for them to cool enough for her to frost them. She takes her time making sure each cookie is filled perfectly and pressed firmly together.

Bella looks over the sea of treats on her counter. Despite earlier's slip up she can proudly say that this was a definite culinary success. Three cookies are lovingly packaged into each bag and carefully lain into the packages she's made. Tomorrow will be the best Kalontine's Day yet!
