The sound of whisking fills the room and Merabella quick whips together a quick batch of chocolates. She lifts up the whisk to check the consistency of the chocolate mousse. Satisfied with it, she pours the chocolate into a piping bag. Merabella snips off the tip to create an opening for the chocolate mousse to pour out of and begin to pour them into single silicone molds. She places the molds onto a metal tray and hit it against the table to release the trapped air bubbles for a smooth chocolate finish. After that, Merabella puts the chocolates into the fridge. A couple of hours has passed and Merabella takes the chocolate out the fridge and releases them from the mold. She tops it all off with a light coating of cocoa powder on top and some edible gold leaf.

Sure, Tasmanian has no valentine, or a mate, or really any relationships besides his chickens- But things aren't so bad for him. He enjoys spending time by himself, and he kinda enjoys celebrating by just cooking heart shaped omelets for himself. After all, it is important to like yourself just as much as anyone else, right? Yeah, that makes sense. Though he does make it a special note to do something else nice for someone throughout the day, and, he also makes sure to whip up a little treat for his chickens, which usually turns out to be either cooked and plain spaghetti, or mini pancakes.

Pasha had never learned to bake. As a child it had not been a necessary skill; he was a prince, after all, and his father rejected any hobbies that might be constrained as feminine. Pasha had had to take such an enormous route around the kitchens to avoid his father's wrath that he did not fully understand the function of an oven until he was nearly ten.

But, like what happens to many, Pasha met someone and fell in love. Specifically Pasha met two someones and fell very deeply and ridiculously in love, and then he insisted he try his hand at baking. Cookies were romantic, right? And hand-made cookies, surely that tipped the scales in his favor. Who could imagine a better boyfriend than one that had a plate of hot cookies waiting at home?

So Pasha isolated himself in Aslan's kitchen with a recipe and his phone. The phone was important because it had access to google, and because Pasha frequently had to stop to look something up. The proper way to crack eggs, best construed through a YouTube video. Not two minutes later; what was three fourths of a cup times two? He used whichever ingredients he could scrounge from Aslan's cupboards and were of similar name to the things listed on the recipe and was certain he was doing well. Surely baking soda and baking powder were interchangeable. And since Aslan had no semisweet chocolate chips Pasha substituted the chocolate syrup he'd installed in the fridge himself. They tasted similar, so what was the worst that could happen?

Pasha answered that question for himself not ten minutes after he placed the wet, gooey cookies in the oven. (It should be noted that Pasha had been forced to stop and google how, precisely, to set the temperature of an oven, and what specific temperature ensured the best cookies possible.) From the oven wafted a burp of smoke and Pasha scrambled to pull the sheet from the fire, bewildered when the sheet gave way beneath his gloved hand and turned to taffy every time he attempted to remove it. Confused and beating back an encroaching wave of heat, Pasha gave in and shouted for Boden and Aslan to come help.

It took the three of them nearly a half hour to properly clean the oven. Aslan gently explained to Pasha that a cookie sheet and a cutting board were not of the same make, and that the latter could not be exposed to heat; that, if placed in the oven, they were likely to melt. Pasha took this explanation in silence, scraping the last of the plastic off the bottom tray.

"I have an idea," he said finally, smiling shyly when he looked up at the two. "I think I'll go to the store and buy some cookies. I have a year to practice for next Valentine's Day anyway."

xxxxxaiko was sick and tired of being called a horrible baker by her friends. maybe her food didn't come out perfectly, but it was pretty good! even if her cookies were a little bit... solid, they were good enough, right?
xxxxxfor valentine's day, aiko decided that she'd finally show everyone that her desserts were great. she bought all of the ingredients needed for cookies -- flour, milk, eggs, chocolate chips, vanilla -- and even cute little heart-shaped cookie cutters.
xxxxxit was the late afternoon, and the radio perched on the windowsill quietly pumped out a pop tune. sunlight streamed in through the window, and for february, it was fairly warm. the scene was picturesque and cozy -- just how aiko liked it.
xxxxxputting on her trusty apron (which was stained and battered, but she didn't care), she got down to business. "now, let's see. preheat the oven to three-hundred-seventy-five degrees..." she worked quickly and efficiently, humming along with the radio, practically dancing around the kitchen.
xxxxxin no time, aiko was done. she popped her tray into the oven, and picked up the book she'd been reading in an attempt to pass the time.
xxxxxtime flew by, and the pages turned. aiko felt herself absorbed into the book, and completely forgot about her cookies. she only remembered them when smelling something strange from the kitchen. "my cookies! dammit!"
xxxxxaiko darted into the kitchen and whipped her cookies out of the oven. they looked... well... bad. they were charred black, barely recognizable. (they weren't even heart shaped.) she believed they could be savable, though. she braced herself, and took a bite.
xxxxxeven she could tell that this was very, very wrong.
xxxxx"well, at least i tried," aiko mumbled, folding up her apron and putting it away. she'd just have to wait for the next holiday to try again.. . and hopefully not let her mind wander off again.

Sen, by any means, was not a good cook, but... Baking some simple Valentines' cookies to give to Orpheus wouldn't be that hard, right? All it was was just following some simple instructions, right?
Wrong.
They could not have been more wrong in their life as they tripped, crashed, and fumbled over just about every step there was in the (self-proclaimed, might they add) "easy" recipe. By the end of the whole ordeal, Sen was nearly in tears as they started to prepare (in all honestly, grossly pink) icing that they planned to use. Heaving a shaky sigh that was just short of a sob, they steeled themselves as they approached the misshapen, probably-burnt cookies. At this point, they were just happy that this was almost over with, and all they had to do was finish icing them, clean up the utterly decimated kitchen, give the blasted cookies to Orph, and face the inevitable mocking laughter that followed.
Piping bag in hand, Sen stepped forward, only for their vision to shift as they slipped on half a broken eggshell and fell.
Straight into the table holding all of the cookies, ingredients, and tools that they had used.
Their fall pushed the table to the side, the motion jarring enough that the table tipped slightly, which, in turn, led to all of the things on the table.
Every. Single. One.
Sliding off and onto the floor.
(Sen, in pain, watched all of this from their new vantage point on the kitchen floor.)
To add insult to injury -or rather, injury to injury- they could feel the fragments of broken eggshell stabbing in their foot.
At that point, Sen was just too tired to even cry. All this effort that they put into making some (admittedly-subpar) cookies, gone in an instant.
Slowly, shakily, Sen pushed themselves off of the cold tile into a sitting position, crossing their legs and staring apathetically at the mess before them.
Now they didn't have anything to give.

The School Bell Rang, Tomorrow Was Valentines Day! Aisha Had To Make Some Cookies For Her Crush, Shiloh.
Quickly She Ran Home. Aisha Asked Her Mom If She Could Bake And Of Course She Let Her. "What Type Of Cookies,
Should I Make?" She Thought To Herself. "Aha! Heart Sugar Cookies, Its Always The Basic Kalontines Cookies!". Aisha
Opened The Cupboards, Took All The Ingredients Out And Gently Placed Them All In A Very Neat Line. She Got Out
Her Recipe And Started Mixing All Of The Ingredients One At A Time. After Everything Was Mixed She Shaped The
Dough Into Hearts With Some Cookie Cutters And Then Put Them On A Baking Tray And Put Them In The Oven. After
Around Ten Minutes Aisha Took Them Out. They Were Hot And Fresh. She Took Her Pink Icing And Covered The Cookies
With It. She Left Them Out All Night While She Slept. In The Morning Aisha Put Them In A Bag And When She Arrived
At School She Gave The Whole Entire Bag To Shiloh. He Said "Thanks, Thats Very Sweet Of You" While He Took The Bag,
Blushing. "I Hope You Like Them" Aisha Replied Then Quickly Added "I'd Better Get To Class, I Guess I'll See You Around".
And Then She Skipped Away Happily To Her Classroom. "What A Lovely Day" She Thought.

Aggie is pretty bad at cooking anyway, but she figured she would try another stab at it to surprise Rose. She would run around to pull all the stuff together, but man she would be pretty bad, getting eggshells in the batter, too much flower and in the end, she would burn them in the end anyway.
Looks like someone is getting store bought cookies for Kalontines day. Sorry Rosie ;o;

Ft. Allariia

Allariia isn't the best chief in the kitchen, often making simple things to get her by rather than showing off. However, she knew her mother would love to have anything special from her so she did her best. Reading several books first, the witch attempted to make her own chocolates with Lavender and sea salt for the main flavor.
The Lavender was from her garden, the sea salt she already had for the various potions she made through the day. However, she ended burning the bottom layer while distracted. One of her crows had decided to fly off with her Lavender while another kept burning its claws on the stove trying to nab the melted sugar.
In short, she gave up and started making Valentine's candles instead.
