Roles and DominanceDominance plays a essential role in flock. Although are generally respectful to all gryphons in their flock, a gryphon of lower dominance will be compliant toward that of a higher dominance. Dominance is usually determined as becomes a fledgling, but sometime can change in adulthood, most commonly when a stranger gryphons joins the flock.Primes
The Prime and Prima are most dominate male and female. Not only are the strongest, the are also the smartest and deemed the most worthy to lead. And though most gryphons know basic first aid(Like cleaning cuts, removing thorns, ect), only the leader know the true art of healing(Gryphon healing is much like healing in Warriors). They are often mates, but do not have to be.
Guardians
Guardian are in charge retaining and maintaining territory. They are charged with the upkeep of the nest island, and creating and building the main nest camp. When not building, they are training to fight. If two flock end up fighting, usually over territory or food, it is mainly the guardians that fight. Guardians are usually from higher end of the dominance
Brooders
These gryphons hatch eggs, and raise young gryphons. They rarely leave nest, usually only to collect more nesting material. They are usually female, but some males are also brooders. Personalities can range wildly but they all share instinct to protect others, and an undying loyalty. They can come from anywhere in the dominance, and even may be exempt from the pecking order, having their own independent defiance.
Hunters
Hunters spend most of their time in the flock's territory, hunting rabbits, birds(not cannibalism), and fish. Most of their hunting is done alone or in pairs, except when hunting larger prey like tuna, dolphins, and other large aquatic life (there aren't many large animals living on the islands). It is up to them to get food for those who can't leave the nest, and they will either bring back small prey or store excess food in their gullet and regurgitate it for them. Hunters are generally from middle and lower end of the dominance.
Scouts
It is the scouts duty to patrol the flock's territory and find new islands to expand to. Although they rarely fight they are very good at tracking skills to understand their environment going into unexplored areas. Also are known to be fast flyers, as they have to relay from the outskirts of the territory all the way back to the nest island. Scouts are usually from the lower dominance or gryphons that generally don't get along with others.
