Adopt a Vudu
History
The King's Crown Antelope is a mysterious ungulate that when first discovered were named due to the strange rack of antlers they wear upon their head like medieval royalty. They are native to Africa's heart of darkness, living in the dank and humid jungles there. Brought to North America by traders, they found a home in the swamps of the Louisiana Bayou. Many folk of African lineage immediately identified with the species and gave them a name fitting of their new culture and their distant cousins the Kudu: thus the common name for the King's Crown was redubbed the "Vudu".
Traits
The Vudu is measured in hands and are commonly in the 10-14 hand range. Life expectancy is around 17 years. They feature a rack of antlers that always has five points. A shock of hair rises from the head and runs all the way down to the tail and the same coarse fur lines their neck. One of the most curious points of the Vudu is the three toes, where the one on the inside can be used for grappling like a thumb, but much less dexterous. Another oddity is the gem tucked into their chests that glows very lightly.
Kinesis
The most unique feature of the Vudu is one that you cannot see. These antelope all posses unique physic abilities that can manifest in a number of different ways. Telekinesis, pyrokeninesis, and even the ability to communicate mentally with others. The cause of this phenomena is unknown, but it has done a good job of keeping away predators and people. The color of the gems in their chests tend to reflect their abilities [pyrokinesis might be red, orange or yellow], but this is not a rule.
