Yes. Everything has an x. Which is why you factor it out first.

Think of it like dividing the whole equation by x

*I know religion is a touchy subject so if this needs to be removed, I understand

[b]YOUR QUESTION: For an assignment, my task is to create an information sheet on the initiation/birth rites of Islam or Judaism. So far I haven't decided which religion I'm going to do, so I thought I might do a little research on both before deciding.

Can someone explain to me the ceremony in which people would see if they were to witness one taking place? What are the actions, symbols and words that would be featured and can you explain them and their importance? Lastly, describe how the initiation ritual acts as the foundation for the faith journey.

I HAVE A QUESTION!
TYPE OF QUESTION: Chemistry
YOUR QUESTION: So, we were given an unknown substance and have to figure out how to neutralize it without necessarily finding what the actual substance is. I know the pH, volume, and molarity. I did a titration to find the molarity of it with NaOH but I'm not sure how to actually neutralize it. It's a very strong acid and I'm thinking of using sodium bicarbonate to neutralize it but I don't know what calculations to do to figure out how much of it I need to neutralize it.

This sounds like something you should be looking up first. When you've got a more specific question after you've got some knowledge, then some people might be able to chip in. But it sounds like you've asked a very broad question, more like you're asking people to do your homework for you. ;3 I just did two quick googles of "initiation into judiaism/islam" and tons of resources popped up.

Can f(x) be anything??

So can I make g(x)= 2|x-4| + 5

Leaving the 5 outside the grouping adds a solid 5 to the answer, moving the y coordinate up.

The 2 makes anything you put in twice as tall (y coordinate twice as big) as it should be, stretching the whole graph up

The 4 inside the grouping means that for any x you put in, the answer you get is what should have been the normal answer from 4 x's ago, moving the graph right
