(pretty sure this is the same website, but for my location. ^^ i'm just worried as you say, the majority uses the mini educator that the ez900 might not be as reliable.

Sportdogs are nice, but they don’t have a huge range of stimulation and sometimes it’s either not effective enough or wayyy to strong for the dog and no in between because there’s only like 7 levels.

I use a Dogtra! I think they’re about the same price as a Mini Educator, but doesn’t have that iffy remote shape. I got mine second hand and barely used for $50 though. Amazing e collar.

Update on the fleas;
Mungo and Midge are doing very well since the initial outbreak, my mum and I have done our best to keep things under control, and whilst we believe we have got rid of them for the most part, we still find the odd one whilst combing them and don’t want to risk any multiplying.
They’ve both been very patient with the comb, but Midge is starting to get fed up of it and is refusing to let us comb her without fuss, if anyone has any advice on how to incentivize her to sit still without using treats (any that would keep her there long enough she’d get too possessive over), that would be greatly appreciated. We’ll also be topping up their flea treatment once the month ends, which should hopefully help with killing off the rest of them.

What you you mean possessive? What kind of treats/dispensing methods have you tried?

You can work on desensitizing her to having her combed but that's going to take awhile. You can try a clamer environment and doing it after she's been well exercised. If you have any music designed for dogs you could try putting that on, or try one of those pheromonal diffusers but other than that I'm not really sure. Because it's necessary to get the fleas off, if she's agressive, you might have to consider muzzling her, which you can train her to accept. Other than that I'm kind of at a loss, sorry.

Even after you take care of the fleas I'd work on desensitizing her to the flea comb, working on a calm settle, and on her possessiveness so it's at least less traumatic for her in the future.

She’ll mainly just growl at us for being too close to the treat, she’s a rescue and was found very underfed, and whilst for the most part she’s very good when eating near us, I think some of that worry carries over when she has a particularly nice treat. We’ve tried stuff that’s more on the chewy side to keep her still for longer (avoiding rawhide, I’m aware that’s notorious for causing issues, we used to give it to Mungo in the past but it caused him a lot of gland blockage which lead to us finding out how bad it can be.) unfortunately it didn’t seem to work.

Thankfully however we have worked out that if we only comb for short periods of time, making sure to intersperse lots of love and attention between, she will stay, so it seems like the issue is mainly over now. We’ve also just topped up their treatment, and they haven’t been itching anywhere near as much, so hopefully the worst of it has passed.

Some Kenai content since I've only posted him once and I think he's the only one of his breed on this thread lol. ;)

But the baby dog is growing so nicely, I'm so happy with my breed of choice. Kenai is so intelligent and intuitive while also being a super goofy and happy boy. Nothing I have taught him seems to have been a challenge for him yet.
He's almost 2 and doing amazing in service work and we're getting through his trick titles one by one lol.
Finally got the guts to enter him into an obedience competition aand he goes into the last developmental fear stage lmaoo, just my luck!
We're not dropping out, but I will definitely be working to proof his behaviors before the end of the month and hopefully we will walk away from the competition with two legs towards his UCD title. :))

This show was a roller coaster for sure! Bones was horribly out of whack, so confo didn’t go as expected, but is feeling so much better now that he has been to the chiropractor! That’s ok though, hopefully next show will be the one he finishes at!

We did get to try dock on a real dock for the first time! He did great, hitting some 10ft jumps from 5ft back off the dock! He’s such a good boy!

We also tried weight pull for the very first time and he absolutely blew me away! Saturday he did two trials, in trial one he pulled 500lbs which earned him 2nd place! The second trial he really got the game and pulled 980 pounds officially, and then with a slight push to start the cart pulled 1060 the rest of the way home, which got him 1st place! (Not a official pull because of them helping start it) Today he matched his 980 for another 1st place!

I am so proud of him, he worked his tail off for me! I can’t wait to see what he manages once he’s conditioned and has a chance to perfect his form!

Omen rocked the show, she got reserve winners female both days she showed, swam on the dock, did a baby weight pull, and just absolutely did amazing hanging out and being calm cool and collected as we went around the show and things!
