In it, i have an angelfish, a spanner barb (both full grown),a paradise fish, and a Gold gourami.
I'm thinking about getting an opaline or a pair of kissers. What would be a good choice of gourami or cichlid for the tank?
How to put this nicely... None of your currect fishes(except maybe the paradise fish and gourami, which could use little more but not terrible) are in big enough tank, not to mention the barbs are schooling fish. And both opaline gourami and the kissers need more space than that, so... Also the opaline and the gold gourami are color morphs from same species of gourami, so by my logic the likehood of those two fighting(would they both be males) is pretty high.
So really I wouldn't add any single fish into that tank with the current fishes.
How ever suitable gouramis or cichlids for the tank of that size: dwarf, honey, thick-lipped, banded and pygmy gourami(and many more smaller species that I don't remember), and out of cichlids I'd look into dwarf sized cichlids like Apistogrammas and ram.
Actually the Angel is in a big enough tank, it is a 29 high and have been told on here that he is fine in that tank, and that i could do a pair in there if they were the only fish... now the spanner barb i can't find accurate stocking, but i have read that as they get bigger they become solitary fish, I just cant find anything about them stocking-wise or compatibility wise, but he has gotten along with the angel for the 6 months i've had him. And also, the stocking sites i've been to say the angel and gourami and paradise fish are fine in that tank and together.
