Dragons of Aerene is an arpg focusing on developing dragons in whatever way that you choose. Whether you want to take one dragon on a solo adventure- and have them grow as a character, or develop an entire clan of dragons of all sorts to take on the world together. It prioritizes freedom of development, taking things at your own speed, and meeting personal goals in development.

This ARPG also has a specialization in breeding/fantasy "genetics" in hybridizing varying traits and mixing different dragon types for new and unique results

This is my founder: Balerion! He is a shadow elemental, and I don't know what all these dragons can do... so for now I just made everything up ^^; subject to change if there is canon lore drops.

I want to see your dragons! Or what dragons you hope to see, if you are waiting on your founder.

Love the lore you've given him so far! I like the idea of elemental foes too, I didn't specifically consider that within the context of the arpg but it could be interesting for some prompt stuff later when I get the time to mess with it

There is technically canon lore! but everyone is still totally free to do what they want with development anyways, maybe if I have the energy I'll type it out in full since dragons have a complex existence in my character world lol

Oooh, I love the lore you have for your dragon already! I know there's not much written down but the hints of culture are so interesting!

I don't have a founder yet, and honestly I'm stuck between Ice and Celestial for them ^^; I'm kinda iffy on Celestial - amphitheres are my favorite type of dragon, but I want to keep the story I write for this more lowkey than what I would want to do for a Celestial lol. I just really like this palette and would love a Celestial based off it. Maybe if customs ever open up, or if the lore for Celestials drops before I can post a form!

For Ice, I'm thinking of using this palette! I'm going for a like "chosen one defeats the villain but becomes as bad/worse in doing so" sort of story with them >:) I would be down to potentially have my founder and yours be friends/allies if it ends up fitting their stories and settings!

@Sixbane I think, if I didn't have a shadow dragon, I wouldn't have thought of elemental foes. Disliking elements sounds like such a shadow thing to do lol. I think it could be neat for prompt tasks. Imagine if my shadow boy had to work alongside an element he dislikes. Would be interesting.

If you write any canon lore at all I will eat it up. You got one guaranteed reader!

@EchoIre I know just what you mean about wanting to keep a story lowkey ^^; I do think celestials have their stereotypes of grandiose backstories. Love the owl and stars moodboard! Would be stunning!

I am so down for friends/allies! There are certain elements my shadow dragon gets along with. Ice is one of them. So if you go the celestial route, might have to wait for a whole character arc for Balerion to warm up to any friendship lol. I hope to get him there though.

Elemental affinities are a fun thing to play with here for sure - I have the strongest vision of a Water dragon who resents Ice dragons for thinking they're ~special~ and ~better than them~ when their element is just water with extra steps. And on the flip side, an Ice dragon who encounters this and doesn't get it at all, which only upsets them more. "You Ice dragons think you're sooooooo cool, just because your water is frozen." "Well, yes, objectively, we are cooler than Water dragons. That's why our ice is solid and not liquid." "I hate you so much."

After thinking about it I'm def gonna be going for the Ice dragon concept as my founder, so I'd love to have them be friends/allies! What sort of personality does Balerion have?

That concept is so funny xD If you end up with a Water deagon I'd be down to have my (eventual) Ive founder be that Ice dragon if you want! /nf

Hi everyone!! I'm still waiting on my founder but iirc I chose a lava/fire dragon for mine :]
I'm not all too good at figuring out stories, honestly I have no idea where to start, any tips?
