I just got a new character ! He's my very first kintaur, and I need name suggestions for him. I'm thinking Mink, but I'm not positive yet.

I'm not sure if you guys remember the Christmas Corp - run by Chia - that used to happen around Christmas every year? The last one that took place was 2013, and one did not take place in 2014 or 2015. I'm not sure if Chia plans to host one for 2016. If you're unfamiliar with what Christmas Corp is, please check out this thread here. Would anyone be interested if the CAAA hosted their own version of Christmas Corp during the holidays this year? If the real Christmas Corp happens, then we could cancel it or just host one for our own members; I don't want to conflict with Chia, but it made me really sad when one didn't happen 2 years in a row.

Tryouts/submissions would be around November 19th for a lineart, and as long as your lineart is clean, complete, and Christmas-y, you would be welcome to take part as an artist. The only requirements would be that you open at least 5 slots at any time throughout the course of the event; you could open as many or as few slots at a time as you'd like, you could draw any species you'd like, and it would be up to you whether or not you would do edits on the lineart.

We would definitely rename it to something else, and it would only be for members who were able to provide proof of membership (either name on the masterlist or link to a pending form).


But I haven't seen or heard anything from Chia either on CS or DA about hosting submissions, so I decided our CAAA-exclusive version should be a go! It will be for CAAA members only, but we're always welcoming new people, so people who join at any point throughout the Candy Coalition would be welcomed to order from us! This is good publicity too ;')

I have opened lineart submissions for interested and generous artists, so if you'd like to be a part of making this new event a success for us, then please check it out!

So what exactly is this? The Candy Coalition is modeled after the Christmas Corp, which was essentially a group of artists that would make a Christmas-themed lineart (any species!) and periodically open free color-in slots throughout the month of December to a handful of rule-abiding form posters who were lucky enough to be online when slots opened. Each CS member can only order from each artist once and can only order twice from any given artist per day so that everyone has an opportunity to get at least one piece of art. Slots are hard to snag, but part of the fun was always racing to get your form posted when an artist mentioned they were briefly opening slots! Artists participating in the thread, of course, may order from other artists within the thread if they'd like!

So really, if you'd like to join, all you'd need to do is create a lineart. This must be a lineart that you can easily re-color, as the whole goal of the CC is to offer lineart color-ins. You must also keep your lineart a secret from the public until December, when our thread goes live. You may not sell color-ins prior to or during the event, these linearts should be exclusive for the event. I don't mind if you make free colorins for yourself or your friends, though! As long as you wait to color things for your friends until after the lineart has gone public!

You do NOT need to offer lineart edits for your lineart, but you may. It's totally up to you. Please note (here on DA at wesleydog) or PM (on Chicken Smoothie at Wesley) me a link to your completed lineart before November 22nd if you'd like to be in!

@Ittam - Holy crappoli, I'm completely and totally smitten with that cemetery character, I always fall for those sort of things *v* It's why I hoard the graveyard bunnies on CS. Congrats on getting such a cute character; I love the ghost faces! The minis on Sixbane's lineart are also really, really cute!

Aaahhh sounds like so much fun! I wish I was able to join in but sadly I have only been a CAAA member for about 5 days ;-;
Oh well, I'll definitely be joining in for the next one. Have fun everyone ^^
