Oh spotty why must you be so good?
I've got the girl that makes me wanna live
And she's got the hear that makes me wanna give more
Now I've got amore amore amore, I've got amore amore amore
She gives me amore amore amore, I've got amore amore amore
We've got the whole world together
We've got our whole lives to spend together
We've got all our time to press our lips together
We've got our whole world forever
Drawing pictures in the sky
Swearing we could fly
Knowing others would die
Just to be you and I

Thank you all for your sweet comments. <3 I guess I'll concider colouring it in then^^'.

Coyox, your drawing looks amazing for such a quich doodle. The front half of it looks perfect to me, the back half looks quite rushed and lacks the detail work of the front half. Um, other than that I think it's really lovely, especially the face looks dashing^^.

A.K.A Raptor, I would have loved to redline for you, but I have to leave now. :< If you still need that redline tomorrow I'll see what I can do^^. I think it looks great as a start, the only things that looks slightly off to me would be the back (which is a little too curved) and the hind legs (which seems to have some trouble in the knee/upper leg area). The face and the curved neck looks very proud to me for some reason, I like it.

Livestreaming (Link in Siggy)

If anyone knows how to set up pen pressure please come along. I may do some requests afterwards. I'm finishing an order.

@Spotty - Gorgeous as usual.

@Raptor - Looks pretty good :3 I may give you a redline later on.

@Coyox - The dog/wolf seems to be walking on its ankles. But other than that, it's only slightly out of perpostion in small areas. Good work.

@spotty :: it is so gorgeous ;;^;;
i definitely have a few charas that would work with the lines,
and maybe you could just specify no lineart edits for simplicity?
even if you don't decide to use it, it's a gorgeous piece <3

@coyox :: the face looks very nice, quite expressive and lovely c:
you are certainly improving, even for such a quick sketch you can see it~

—————————————————————

haven't been drawing so much because my desktop computer crashed,
it's the only computer i use my tablet with and it had all my art from the past five years on it
we are working to try and recover filed but for now, no real digital art :c sorry guys.

however, i do have a few traditional pieces to show you all ... been practicing traditional shading

Sorry for my late reply. x)

Thank you for the comments, I don't know if I'll fix this or just make a new ref completely. LOL.
But the comments were really uplifting to me, so thank you. C:

Raptor,

Sorry this took so longer, here's a redline! C:

Image

The first thing I noticed is that your wolf seems a bit... puffy, yet at the same time thin. Too thick at the back and legs, but WAY too thin at the neck and stomach.

The back needs to come WAY down. Some fur does tend to puff up at wolf's rump but, for the most part, the rump is lower than the shoulders-- it's a nice slope.
On the opposite end, the stomach should be fuller-- or appear fuller, as there will be lots of clinging fur.
The legs will be much thinner, and should have more appropriate bends to them. Legs should not be drawn straight at all; even the front legs have variations in them that make them not straight.
The shoulders of a wolf's legs DO come forward, but you have them popped forwards a bit too low. Bring up the line of the shoulders into the neck fur, and make a nice slope for the actual leg. The elbow is generally tucked up close by the belly fur.
For something I made on wolf hind legs, you can find a link on the front page of this forum.
The tail is an extension of the spine and should be higher up because of this.

And as far as neck fur goes, you really need to puff that baby up-- face fur, too. Wolves, like tiger's generally, appear to have a "full", almost circular face thanks to a lot of fur. In addition, their necks are almost like manes. The fur of the neck should nearly show past that of the face from this angle.
The neck should also be a bit lower, as well as the head.

As far as the face goes, your wolf's ears are a bit big-- but that's usually personal preference-- and should be placed a little farther apart on the head. Your wolf's nose also appear to be a bit "pinched." Rather than having the lines that show the sides of the nose flare out as they get closer to the eyes, it would give a better appearance of the nose getting bigger at the end if you have the lines start smaller near the eyes, and widen at the bottom.
Canines also show a "top" and "bottom" to their noses, and defining the two with a line in the center can give the face a deeper look.
The mouth also looks a bit crooked.

Keep practicing and don't forget to reference! C:

Here's an EXCELLENT reference that details just about everything covered in this critique,

The only thing I'd say is the ears seem to be coming from the cheek and not the head. x3

I'm glad I could help! x)

Your shading definitely does look better here-- much softer. :3

I also see that you're making a defining edge around thing. The edge is a nice touch, but looks a tad bit too stiff here-- maybe using a softer brush would have it blend in more, or perhaps even blurring it a little. :3

I'd join the livestream, but I really need to sit down and do my own work at the moment. xD
Lots of typing to do, yet my mind keeps wandering, lolol.
