I got through the last of my PMs and I'm sad it's already over! I think I handed out 110+ treats this year. No idea if this is a lot or not, but it's something!

Didn’t go trick-or-treating myself this year, but thought I’d share some art I made for some of the treats!
-snip for space-

Honestly had a great time with LOLO this year!
Thanks to everyone who put effort into organizing this event<3

That art is so lovely! I'm sure your trick-or-treaters were delighted!

Just participate for the first time… decided to just hand out tricks/treats because I didn’t know how it worked, so next year I’ll join the trick or treating

May or may not have handed out only treats this year… oops! Was going to spin a wheel for each person to see what they’d get, but I like giving stuff away so I decided to just do treats ^w^

This year was relatively dry in regards to irl trick or treaters, so it was so nice to have so many CS trick or treaters come to my “door” :’)

I built a spreadsheet, so I might as well share the stats. I had my lights on permanently.
    - I received 233 rule-abiding PMs and gave out treats to all but one (whose preferences I had nothing for).
    - 198/297 players sent me at least one PM! So excited that it was pretty much two-thirds, especially accounting for some people who did not ToT at all.
    - Two people visited with their second story at least once.
    - 35 people revisted at least once.
    - I received 152 messages before October 15th and 81 messages after October 15th.

I sent out 196 total PMs and got 174 treats, 5 tricks, and 17 messages have not been replied to (yet, at least).
I visited 177 players at least once. I revisited 19 total players (I did not revisit anyone more than once).

I got some cute art treats and one incredibly valuable treat that I am extremely grateful for. <3

Overall, this was an awesome year, and I hope anyone who played joins us again next year!

Oh, and my treat story, featuring Noodles from the Summer Even this year, in case anyone didn't visit but would like to have a bit of fun:
You shift your body anxiously as you wait for the door to open, hoping that the spooky sounds you hear are a manufactured effect to add to the creepy ambiance. How did you not notice how dark this house was, besides the candlelight burning brightly on the edge of the porch? Now that you're close, the all too real spiderwebs and moldy scent of decay make you think it might be best to turn back and go on to the next house. Just as you lift your paw, though, everything shifts, and you fall crashing through the porch.

When you right your bearings you are in a stone hallway with drippy walls and some strange runes painted all over. You're not sure what they look like, but it seems... squiggly. "Hello?" you call, before offering a trembling, "Trick-or-treat?"
    Image

Those must have been the magic words because a dog in armor appears as if from nowhere. The hall is all of a sudden adequately lit by candles, throwing the wall art into high relief. "Who dares trespass on the domain of Noodles, a disciple of the Squiddy Overlords?" The dog stomps and crosses their paws, waiting, but before you can figure out some answer, they seem to really look at you for the first time.

"Oh no, I've forgotten again! With an outfit like that, it must be Halloween. That explains why you're the fourth pet to fall in here this evening." You stare at Noodles, unwilling to ask what happened to the first three trespassers. "Well, the squiddy overlords do like their candy, so you had better take your treat and skedaddle before they notice it's gone. Ever since that business with the Internet outage, I haven't been able to satiate their appetites!"

A deep groaning sound emanates from somewhere deeper down the hallway, and you quickly take Noodles' offering. "Just gotta hit the back arrow!" Noodles exclaims, and before you can say "clippy" you're out on the street, (hopefully) ready to take on the next house.

Celozon wrote:Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't had much time to participate in LOLO myself this year, I've just had a lot going on irl this month and had my hands full with that, so I never got a chance to turn my lights on. I'll see if I can for a bit on Halloween though at least. I'm really happy to see how much everyone has been enjoying LOLO this year! We def have a lot more players than has been normal so its been a bit hectic, but its been really great seeing all the positivity here and there really haven't been any major issues! So I just want to thank everyone for that <3

I usually try and ask everyone what they've thought for LOLO in the last week or so, so this is my annual invitation for you let me know how your experience was. -snip-

I think LOLO went quite well this year. I think the idea of two stories is nice, but I do find it was kind of confusing and I know I personally wouldn't be able to keep a track of who have visited with which story which is why I only accepted two visits total. It was also a bit difficult to understand who accepted revisits, and if they counted revisits per story or per user, so I think for next time it would be nice if that could be clarified/more specific :)

I am horrible at math so won't even try to figure out the stats ^^; just know I started with a completely empty pm box and now it's full with some deleting.

I've played for years and I always get super pumped for LoLo. I always expect to have a great time but this year blew me out of the water!

What made it awesome:

- Staff participation. We get a few each year but this year, correct me, but was this the most so far? All I know is it was magical to see the colored usernames playing along with us. Thanks ya'll!

- Most creative stories/Dress ups. There were so many stories outside the mold this game. Dressups I couldn't even fathom how they made them. Bravo!

- So many people! Give an award to whichever staff linked LoLo in the accouncements. It paid off and the more people playing the more fun!

- Too generous! I feel uncomfortable accepting valuable pets/items. I felt so blessed I wanted to stop ToTing bahaha. It gave me the wind in my sails to rain the rares on others though. I hope the people that stopped by my virtual house found me generous too.

- Replies were so wholesome! I was nervous having such a long story but I got such kind feedback. Some replies made me blush others made me laugh out loud. Great memories were made TuT love you CS fam.

What could be better:

I had no experience with 2nd trick or treaters or revisits so no input there. It did look confusing and maybe next year there can be a place on the list to show if a player has 1 or 2 trick or treaters? That way players know, at a glance, a 2nd trick or treater was approved by staff and also they can expect a revisit from that player. If I did take more than one story I'd have 2 places to mark if a user saw me once or twice. If I saw on the list they had more than one I would make room in my spreadsheet from the get go! Less confusion when you know it's coming.

This is way too long. Had a great time - Kite

Here are some of my LOLO stats for this year:
~122 players visited me (22 of them visited twice) and all got treats!
~I visited 110 players (visiting 13 twice) with 7 not responding (at this moment).

I really enjoyed myself this year! I think the 2 stories were a little confusing at times but I enjoyed seeing everyone's creativity :D

Just wanted to thank everyone for the feedback! Especially on the introduction of two stories per user, I expected there to be a few bumps that need to be smoothed out so I'm happy to hear suggestions on that!

I'm also not opposed to removing the ability to have two stories if the general feeling is that its too confusing or just not worth it, but the main idea was since we don't have like 1k people playing anymore like we did back in 2011, to give people a chance to send out more stories, and receive more, even if the total number of players is lower. Since one of the main complaints in recent years is it getting very slow later in the month as most people have already visited you, and you've already visited them.

That said, we actually saw a pretty decent increase in players this year thanks to getting mentioned on the news post, so the usefulness of the second story was decreased a bit since many people would have had enough to do just answering one story from each person. For context, we had about 100 more players this year than last year, and I didn't see any complaints about running out of people to visit. Though I'm not on the big CS discords and I know it gets discussed over there some, so maybe all the complaints were just happening there. I definitely suggest complaining here or on the LOLO discord though so I know about it and can take that into consideration for future years! C: (I 100% do not mind complaints, you can even PM them to me)

Yeah it definitely seemed to add a level of confusion in some areas. I did have to edit the thread a few days in to explain things more clearly as some people were interpreting what is a revisit differently (it should be per story, not per user). But realistically I have to expect that some people are just not reading those explanations on the thread and interpreting it their own way. Ideally the listed info for revisits on the thread would perhaps be more specific so its clearer even if you don't read everything on the thread, but I'm not sure how to implement that at this time.

And I think the other half of the issue is, I would have been happy to reach out to people who were interpreting what a revisit is incorrectly but they didn't reach out to us, and if no one lets the LOLO team know that someone is interpreting it incorrectly, we don't know about it unless we happen to encounter it ourselves (and I personally had other stuff going on so I couldn't trick or treat myself). We def rely on you guys to let us know when there is an issue.

I could def see adding a little '2' or something to indicate that someone has two approved stories. I'll see if thats something we can add ^^

I joined in a little late and didnt do a ton of trick or treating but handed out quite a few treats this year (I generally dont trick ever unless someone massively breaks the rules/visits with my lights off)

I would really like if there was a text version not images for treat preferences. I'm old. the pics are tiny and the images just all blur together (alternately, put the images in front of the usernames so they are all in a straight line and not all over the place? it hurts my eyes to look at the actual list because of that)

something I would LOVE is for people to be sorted by "type of visits allowed" with the note to check their signature for changes.. so like the list would be broke down into things like
unlimited visits
weekly visits
once per story visits
one visit total

tbh? next year i think I might make a spreadsheet for my own personal records but it might be a cool LOLO addition? example I threw together here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing (note - permission to make copies is granted, please leave credit/original link though if you take it and modify it :) )
