Lights On Lights Off Fanclub

I had a lot of personal issues come up around the end so I had to turn my lights off (I'm leaving them on for today though since Halloween) but had fun while I participated!

I didn't actually get too many second stories, even during the beginning of the event when I had my lights on a lot, curious to see how my numbers stack against everyone else.

Everyone was really nice, and even if mistakes were made they were pointed out gently and with no hard feelings which was awesome. The community was really welcoming of newcomers, both to the game and the site :)

Thank you for doing this!! I had a lot of fun, especially in the first week. My favorite parts were seeing the greeters stories. Since they aren't required only people who wanted to do them would, and it really showed! There was a lot of really memorable stories and i had fun trying to come up with responses to each of them

Originally I only wanted to do one character for this event. It wasn't until a couple days before Halloween that I decided to do a second character. What I thought was going to be a fun little task is turning out to be a bit of a bummer. I keep getting replies saying that I have already visited the houses before, and I will admit, I did accidentally visit two of them more than I should have by accident, but I have gotten an inbox full of messages saying I have visited them already. I honestly feel bad because I don't want people thinking I am actually trying to take advantage of them and visit more than they were allowing. It kind of makes me feel bad. I'm thinking maybe I need to put a disclaimer in my messages for trick or treating warning them that I have two characters for the event. Anyone else have this happen to them? If so, do you have any suggestions for helping this situation?

I have memory issues at the best of times, so I've just assumed that anyone who messages me again before a week has passed is playing a second trick-or-treater :> If I'm unsure, I search through my saved LOLO messages to be totally sure, but I assume the majority of players are keeping track and playing fair! <3

If someone did send me a message too soon then I wouldn't assume they were trying to cheat, though! I know keeping track of all the messages you send can be tough, even when you keep a list of houses, so I always assume it's a genuine error. I hope you're having better luck now, Jacklin!

I do think adding a disclaimer can be a good idea, or maybe putting [Second Story] in your PM heading?

@Jacklin009 Sorry you are experiencing that! I only have one trick or treater myself, so I don't have any first hand experience, but are you saying users who have listed "Once per story" or "Two visits total" are turning you away? I think we have a pretty clear player list so it's odd this is happening to you! I'd be frustrated too.

Maybe we will get more feedback from players with two trick or treaters when the game ends? People usually file in here for feedback. I'm curious how more of the dual treaters feel since this is a new addition.

Yeah I would check that you aren't visiting people twice who have 'one visit total' listed next to them on the player list. If they don't have that then they should be accepting second stories, so if they aren't you can let the thread staff know so we can make sure that the list correctly reflects their visit preferences ^^

I think next year I will allow 2 visits per player.
Up until now I sorta invite double dippers personally.
Cant believe its nearly all over, I'll certainly miss you all visiting... sigh 😥👻

I actually think it’s a little of my fault as well considering my first trick or treater is in my second story as well. After receiving another message it was pointed out that the name occurring in the second story may be a little confusing as everyone doesn’t have time to read through every single story and may just have to skim through them.

It's perhaps a bit late to ask, but: How long does LOLO run?
From the rules on the main thread I'm assuming:
we have time to send out ToT PMs until CS hits rollover,
after that the game's over and PMs sent then will count as "received when the lights were off"
and then we can clear off the backlog of the PMs others have sent us over the first days of November
Am I right about that? Or did I misunderstand something?

Yeah, it ends at rollover so only a bit over 2 hours from now, any ToT PMs sent before then will still be valid and you can respond to them into November (there isn't really a limit on how long you can take to respond but its generally good to keep it within the first week of November).
