How did you come up with you fursona?
Ramona was an accident. I had just gotten a new base to color in my 'sona Kelcie in, and when I finished I was like "Hmm, I should make an adopt." So I made this adopt, unconsciously adding myself into it like my favorite color into her hair, and video game controller buttons onto her piercings. When I finished I thought to myself, "I can't get rid of her. She is me." And yeah, Ramona...



How do you deal with art stealers?
I report them of course, but I also keep my characters and their art pretty well protected so that if they are stolen, there's a way they can be traced back to me.


What is your favorite character and why?
Nathaniel. I'm not sure if I have a reason. I mean, his personality isn't even that well developed. I just love him so much.


How do you come up with character names?
Hours and hours of searching. I usually come up with a letter I want the name to start with, and then spend hours finding names that start with that letter. I make a list of names I like and cross them out until there's only one left.


What do you look for in characters?
I can't say I look for anything particular. My characters are very diverse and different, which I love. What matters to me is that I click with them. If I can't look at their image and start creating a personality and backstory within a few minutes, it's not the character for me, and probably will never be.

Hey guys! I am looking for some artists who would be willing to draw up a few references. They are all human characters but one has a lion form and another has a wolf form. So I am searching for someone who is able to drawing both humans, lions, and canines well. I have around 20-50 USD to spend, I am mostly wanting a proper reference for my main boy Stone. Do you have a certain goal of 'development' for your characters? Like a certain amount of art or a certain amount of writing? A form you fill out for all of them?
I would love to say my goal is to have a solid personality and backstory/history for each of my characters and a proper reference sheet. Art for me is just a bonus as I love to write so most of my time goes into writing about my characters even if its just nonsense and rubbish.

What do you do AFTER you reach that goal, after you feel you've 'developed' the character. Do you just leave them at a standstill? Do you keep your characters/their development fluid?
I can't really say I have ever reached it, because even when I believe I have something solid for a character I have to go back and change some things or add some things such as details, or new information. I guess I can say I just continuing working on the character and try my best to really flesh them out, and if I run out of stuff to expand I will try find relationships for them, friends, family, mate/partner, enemies, etc.

Do you have a fursona? Tell us about them!
I have one, his name is Alexander Stone. Stone is my fursona/persona, he has both a human form and a lion form. Originally he started out as a wolf named Sin with one marking and has made a wonderful journey to the badass looking lion/human he is now. He is practically me 110% minus a few details I do not wish to say, he even had my small ticks/mini seizures as my epileptic cousins call it..

What do you think multiple fursonas?
I remember when I firsted started out in the world of characters and fursonas I thought people with more than one fursona were weird and it was unnecessary to have more than just one. But now that I am not as young I really don't see anything wrong with having two or more. I have been considering making one of my other characters a fursona because without realizing it I made his personality and habits mirror mine.

People have different parts about them that they may want different characters to show, which would make sense to have multiple. The idea of having a character for their personality, another for their habit, and etc makes sense and really doesn't effect me so eh.

How long have you been a member of CAAA? Have you seen any artists improve while here?
I would like to say maybe two years? I know its one for sure, but I do not remember which version I joined in.
I really don't pay to much attention to the thread enough to see the improvements/changes in someone's art. Although I have seen improvements with some users designing skills or writing/development skills. does that count? haha.

What do you think of collab-adopts? Like where two people team up to win characters?
I am kinda indifferent about this, although I personally would not partake in a collab adoptable because I am so random with my character development I like the free rein to change things or swap stuff around.
To the people that can make this work they are simple amazing and I applaud them and their skills. Maybe one day I will try it without trying to butcher everything every other week..

How did you come up with you fursona?
My favorite colour comb is red, black, and white so I wanted my fursona to have those colours. But I really can't take to much credit for the design because Stonefly was originally designed by someone else from a contest and has been altered quite a bit. But without the original design I would be in total loss design wise..

He also has some scars, marks, etc that I personally have but have been moved or adjusted to work with the design.

How do you deal with art stealers?
I have never had anyone steal my art that I know of, my art isn't all that great to begin with and I don't share my art enough I think. But I would start with a message asking them to stop using my art and if required try contacting higher up people, such as admins, site owners, etc. I would also make sure to report their happy butts.

What is your favorite character and why?
My favorite has and always will be a tie between Mardux and Namor.
Mardux was my first real design that I created without help or someone else giving my ideas(minus the colours). I just love his mood personality, story, and life path he has chosen. He is super fun to write about and create stories around. And because of him I have started finally working on his little gang and adopting characters that I feel would work with him.
Namor was adopted from a user on this thread, I forget their username but If I saw it I would remember. I have this love for dobermans and they are my dream dog beside Irish wolfhounds. What I love about him is how different he is from a lot of characters out there, but yet he is so simple? if that makes sense? Namor is also fun to write about and draw.
These two are just my babes, and I would never let them go.

Is any of your characters based off of something?
Harley is based off my actually dog who has since passed. I got some art of him before he passed and just decided to make him into a character. I loved that dog, and he was the reason why I am in the career I am in today.
Ralee is based off a DC character, and is centered around the DC universe specifically the injustice gods among us run.
Ryan Gold is another character based from the comics, but this time Marvel. He is a mutant but has no connection to the Marvel universe really.
Jason Todd Wayne is not based on anything, but I stole his name from the comics, again, but he is named after Bruce Wayne and Jason Todd

I currently have a character in the works, but waiting for the next game installment to come out but he is based from the Gears of war games. I am just waiting for the next game to see which way to the series went so I can stay pretty close to source material.

Not really. I haven't been collecting characters that long, so I haven't really gotten the chance to do that yet. I guess that I would just get heaps of art of them if its a character I really connect with. I do have some art of my girl Artemis here. I would like to develop a backstory for my favorite characters.

I haven't gotten that far yet X3. But when I do, I would love to put them all in the same world. I was inspired by someone else who has a bunch of wolf characters and they formed a sort of kingdom with them. Each character has a position in the kingdom, a backstory, art, personality description, etc. That is a super cool idea, and I would love to do that. Make all my characters live in the same world and interact would be awesome! I would have to change it up a bit though. I definitely don't want to steal their idea D:

What do you think of collab-adopts? Like where two people team up to win characters?
I can't imagine ever doing it myself because I'm such a major control freak. I haven't really seen or heard of anyone doing it before, but I can't imagine I'd mind.

How did you come up with you fursona?
I actually have 2 personas and 3 fursonas, but I'll throw 'em all in here because they can all shapeshift anyways.
Lee was fairly easy because she's just me, minus the unstable emotions and perpetual saltyness. her design is based entirely on my appearance, as is her fashion style, but she has short hair.
Lavender was kind of just me playing around until I found something I liked. I used my favourite colour scheme (white, black, and lavender) and kept my signature green eyes. I wanted her design to be simple.
Marcella doesn't have a reference on CS yet, but she was easy to make. one day I was just super frustrated and decided to just sit down and draw, not putting a whole lot of effort in, and 30 minutes later I was looking at a picture of a confused clown dressed in purple and black ringleader's clothing and looking like a freak. I started to connect with her right away and she quickly became a secondary persona representing my constantly switching emotions (seriously, my emotions are like the electricity in pakistan. on one minute, off, on, annnnd it's off, on, off...yeah ok that simile made no sense but y'know what I'm saying) as well as my love for circuses, carnivals, clowns, marionettes, puppets, dolls, amusement parks, and anything of the sort.
Nameless was based on my old plush bunny toy.
Seren was like Lavender - just playing around. I added the galaxy eyes to his eyes later because I felt like it worked for him, since he is supposed to represent my creativity and stories.

Is any of your characters based off of something?

Belladonna, Jester, and a few other Paradise Park characters were based on some drawings I drew when I was a kid. last time I moved houses I discovered one of my old binders and found a lot of drawings from when I was younger. most of them involved me at the carnival (I'm just assuming that based on the ferris wheel in all the pictures and vague memories of drawing and writing stories at my grandma's house when I was 6 or 7) with a bunny, a girl with balloons, and/or a cat smiling somewhere. the bunny seemed to be the most frequently drawn - I'm assuming maybe it was based off the aforementioned toy bunny. but that bunny became Belladonna, the balloon girl became Jester, and a few other scribbles I think were supposed to be animals became the other characters in the park. that's where I got the idea for Paradise Park - it was always there, it just wasn't until I rediscovered that binder that I decided to make it a reality.
Shiloh and Link are based on my cockerainian dog and baby rex bunny by the same name. >3<
Carly was based on my grumpy, mean old childhood cat that I named Bob the Builder when I was 4 or 5 and managed to love even though everyone else thought he was just a cranky old meany.

does anyone in the "real world" know about your chars? ( family/friends etc )
my best friend knows a fair bit as we RP together, and my mom and stepdad have very very vague knowledge that I write stories about and draw my own characters, and my dad knows I like to design characters. but none of them really know all that much about them or what they are to me. I mean, my best friend gets inside details about a lot of my characters, but certain parts of them and about 90% of their stories and ideas stay inside my head. not because I'm worried I'll be judged or anything, it's kind of just...I don't know. my characters are my brainbabies and they're very important to me. I spend most of my waking hours developing them so they're just really personal.

How do you feel about people PMing/Noting you to ask if any of your characters are for sale?
it makes me a little nervous, but then again most PMs do. it depends on the character they're asking about. if it's a newer one I never really connected with and planned on donating to T.A.A anyways, I'm fine albeit a little intimidated by their confidence. but if it's an important character, I just feel horrible trying to tell them no and usually offer them a small gift as an apology. ;u;

Do you have any characters that look more like the opposite gender? do you have characters that don't look like any particular gender?
I imagine Phillip could totally pass as a girl if he tried. >3> Stitches is also frequently called a girl.

well, I have Seren, who's genderfluid.

probably Phillip's mother, Wilhelmina. she's 46.

that's a tough one. half the ghosts in Paradise Park could qualify, really. I'd say Kimmy, maybe? she's six.

I'll keep monster/nightmare characters out of this one because it'd be unfair. excluding them, the tallest would be Phillip and Poppy (both 6'4), Killian (6'2), and Puppen (6'0.5).

cheaper ones. always. if I see potential, I'll buy it. I don't need fancy refs or anything.

Do you prefer simpler character designs, or more complex ones?
typically simpler, because I can't do anything complicated. I like to just admire complex ones from afar.
