I've been worried recently. At this rate it seems like gen2 might fully come out around the 1 years anniversary of the game. Does that mean we'd literally have to wait a whole new year for the next gen? and the next?
Like I don't mind giving us time to actually catch all the pokemon, but.. thats so many years to get to the newer gens :')

recently I saw a togepi and I thought "Wow gen2 is already out?!" And then a igglybuff appeared on the nearby list but I didn't find it. I think it's already out,but its very rare to find/catch.

I'm pretty sure that it's impossible to find Togepi and Igglybuff in the wild, as well as any other Gen II Pokemon.

There are massive online networks, like The Silph Road, dedicated to crowdsourcing information and data mining the game and every update that comes with it. If it was possible to catch the baby Pokemon in the wild, we'd already be seeing screenshots, people would be freaking out, Niantic would at some stage make an official post about it, and it would have likely been found in the game's coding.

That, and considering that there are millions of players with smart phones and iPhones, there would be plenty of screenshots by now. Shinies are supposed to be the rarest things in the actual pokemon games. Even if they were a 1 in 4,000 chance to find, like shinies, there'd still be loads of screenshots uploaded to the internet by now because of the millions amounts of players worldwide.

At the moment, the only way to get a Togepi or an Igglybuff is to hatch one from an egg. The only Gen II Pokemon in the game are the baby Pokemon, minus Tyrogue.

Likely, the next Pokemon we'll see will be Umbreon and Espeon. Apparently they have been found in the coding of an update that came out a while ago. Same thing happened with Ditto. They added the coding in the game, and then a few weeks later made it live.

+it did not seem like they are going to make the babies available in the wild to begin with. It would make sense for them to be only available in eggs (as much as I hate it, as I'm still missing most of them.....)
So if you saw a silhouette of something, it was likely just another pokemon. But unless you can provide a screenshot, it's not very believable.

Well; I caught a Jigglypuff, but I'm out of Pokeballs again. xD
I hatched a 1237 CP Tangela though; decent CP, I guess.
I am 3 candies away from evolving my festive Pikachu, and I'm on my last 5k egg before I have to start in on the 5 10k that I've had for a while.

Starting some time today, the price of the Pokemon Storage Upgrade is going to be cut by 50%, thankfully.

I don't remember what my source was, but apparently evolution items will work in conjunction with candy. Scyther will apparently need 40 candies along with the neccesary item.

Personally I'm super excited for Sentret. If Niantic goes down the same road with spawn rates for Gen II as they did with Gen I, Hoothoot and Sentret will be the "new" Rattata and Pidgey. I'm totally ok with that. I look forward to my Furret army, haha.

My only concern is that Gen I Pokemon that are already super rare, like Aerodactyl, are going to be even harder to find now since spawn points have more Pokemon to choose from. I imagine they'd increase spawn points, but eventually there'll just be too many, no? The point of the game is to go out and look for Pokemon, not walk down a street and be drowned by them.

Only ever hatched one Kabuto and that was it, at least I found three Omanyte but that only gave me like 10 candy total. *sigh*

So far we got ~150 pokemon (Gen 2 babies included) but we only had so many slots for pokemon. Now ~80 are added and... uhh... even with a 50% discount, I don't really want to buy THAT much space? :\ I try to get my coins from staying in arenas.

I feel like one euro/dollar is a pretty good deal for 50 extra slots, but I can see how that wouldn't work for everyone. Not everyone is in a position to do micro transactions.

Space is definitely going to be a problem, both in regards to storage and spawn points. I'm interested to see if/how Niantic will deal with this. The game could die if they're not careful.

Just a heads up, there is an update available for the game right now. We get a new UI on the catch screen that seems to be a big improvement.

Sprint, one of the companies that has a partnership with Niantic, made a post somewhere saying that the new Pokemon are coming out tomorrow. So far all leaks regarding pokemon Go have been accurate, so we may be seeing them tomorrow already.
