I meant to post this earlier but I got caught up in work, but here i am now so Hello everyone! I am ilya and I’ve loved fables ever since Bezel first introduced the species and did the interest check. I made some entries mostly for fun, experimenting with colors to see how they’d look on the lines, and i was fortunate to be chosen as an artist!
I post adopts and work on the nursery, lately this has become a way to de-stress myself and relax. I must say that it boosted my creativity and made it a bit easier for me to understand and work with colors more. I'm also happy that so many of you posted on the fanclub already, i have read suggestions and looked through most of the fables. I know some of you are non-owners at the moment, so I’ll do my best to release more fables in the future, likely after I finish the nursery slots I’ve taken on recently. Thank you all for being such an amazing community and I hope to see even more of you join and share your fables! also please don't count me for the raffle so other people have a chance! as I can make myself one at any time <3

I only own a fable currently but I love him dearly! his name is Zaurak, his slots are currently closed, but he's open for friendships c: Zaurak is distant and cold, a god that shifts and bends time like the black holes. His dark coat has galaxies and stars that shift around his body.

which of all the designs so far is your favorite? from the simpler ones I really love this one (#1-10), black bases have my heart and the simplicity really gets me, second fav is this one (#29) I love the touches of gold and the halo is to die for <3
are you interested in a fable discord server? while I'm not a very talkative person since english is not my first language and I 'm afraid I'd say something wrong, although the fan club is a big step forward for the community, I think discord will be good for people that want to get involved in the species more or have questions and want them to be answered quickly, but it is also a big responsibility in my opinion and some people, as I read, are not able to join it, but either way it does sound good and it might have its benefit. i am here to moderate and help in any way c:

Howdy all, I'm Kitsune/Kit/Starlings, and if you're into cs's/uma's you've probably seen me around before I love character collecting and worldbuilding, and fell in love with Fables when I first saw them on oekaki. I have never been big into horse/equine species but Fables have such a charm and uniqueness that I love.

Color/Inspo: More birds !! I think Hummingbirds (anna's, ruby throated, calliope) and Owls (snowy, great horned, great gray, short eared) especially would look great as Fables, or maybe gamebirds (so many types of quail, prairie chickens, black grouse)!!
Traits: Face/head edits (expression, beak, sharp teeth), hoof edits (larger or sharper hooves, paws, multiple toes), maybe fishy tail or gills?

i like my own fable the most, but i also love 25! overall i'm a huge fan of the muted semi-realistic colorations they can have, along with all the different options for traits

i think the species is fine as is tbh, the community feels cozy even without a discord server- but i would be down to join if one was made! i love that we have a fanclub

I love everyone's fables so much and the suggestions are fun to read!

Out of curiosity how does everyone have their Fables development setup? Shapeshifting? Fantasy world? Modern shenanigans?

Mine will be integrated into my already existing fantasy world but have access to portals so they can hop time and space as they wish so can be found in kinda any worlds. They can use magic to access these portals though some are better than others. The portals are naturally occurring and it is possible to wander into one by accident. I think some might have alt forms as humans on occasion while others prefer to stay in their original shapes their whole lives.

Plus some more detailed introductions to my set!

Taxila is a grumpster old guy who wants mostly nothing to do with modern things and sticks to his favourite deadwood forest. Doesn't run into many other Fables but likes it that way. He collects gemstones and keeps them like a dragon hoard by dropping them into the clear creak in his territory. In the sunlight the water lights up in a kaleidoscope of colours. He can be bribed easily with shiny rocks, crystals, amber and vibrant bugs. His forest has plain dead wood but all the insects and such are vibrant in colour or even glow. Sometimes uses a human form to trade with caravans (got tired of them running in fear assuming he was a dragon).

Finally named this bean! Ichor came to be mostly on a whim when a portal happened to appear close enough to Taxila that he could be bothered to enter the nursery and found some unique crystals so stuck around long enough that the magic took hold. Ichor is curious and bright, they like to dimension hop a lot and are more of a nomad than their progenitor. They return to Taxila's forest to gift cool gems, crystals, rocks, and sometimes even species or pretty beetles. They don't stay long as the bugs are attracted to their glow and it annoys them hearing the buzzing in their ears. Super friendly and curious with other Fables but communicates exclusively through snorts/sighs and body-language, particularly their expressive ears. Easy to make friends with and will happily visit friends often, though isn't likely to 100% settle in one area. They've spent a few months at a time in certain areas to explore but will wander into any interesting portals they find. They will often pick up work as a messenger/collector between dimensions as they have the ability to find portals to specific places rather easily and summon them on demand at times. Its often that fae creatures will ask them to pass along a letter or a witch to collect a rare ingredient from another plane.

Totally open to a twins pairing for Taxila's second slot, but would need to have slight development on how the heck the other fable convinced him. Might be a bit more picky with him. Ichor is also open to discussions, definitely easier to develop since they're so friendly.
Also open to developing friendship, rivalry, history, enemies, and the like for both!

My Fables live in a "great wood". It's an ancient forest, rich with magic. It is also inhabited by other fantasy creatures from lore. My Fables form a herd, Herd Solasta. There is a castle. And a little village. I can't really write animals too well so I will probably treat my Fables as humans with magical powers when I am writing. Art will have them as their hooved selves. Weird dynamic I know, but what can I do.

Taxila sounds precious and we must protect him at all costs. My boy, Cian, is a wanderer. It would do him good to run into a "grumpy old guy." He needs some worldly growing, he's too sheltered.

Ichor would be welcome as a guest at Kerr's great wood. He's a little sad right now though. Maybe not the best company... but the forest folk are great!

I absolutely love all ungulates, and every design I’ve seen on here is literally so pretty omg?? I’ve been lurking around here for a while and I’ve yet to see a design I didn’t LOVE. I really like soft designs, natural to semi-natural animal markings, unique horns and ears, & pastel colors, so this species just tickles my brain in the best way. I also like how there’s not really a rarity system so artists can just be creative without consequence /gen /pos

A discord server would be awesome!! I’m a mobile user and one of the reasons I haven’t joined previously is because CS forums are really confusing on mobile lol

You could also use the smaller format image coding that should fit you just have to change this part of the image address (open it in a new tab or right click copy image address!
You can change it to small, gallery, medium, and large!
You can also make it transparent if you have a version without a background by changing auto to png.

@BlueEyedKite You are totally welcome to use the portals setup if you'd like! It really does make things easier to have characters jump into the worldbuilding done by other users.

Taxila could totally give him a grounding experience in his little deadwood. He doesn't put up with much so Cian better be ready to deal with that grump haha.

Ichor would totally end up in the great wood. They'd totally find a portal with a weird energy and want to go check it out and end up there. Since they work as a messenger they can hold a message for the prince if they ever come across him while wandering!
