Username:Calphina
Equidius name:Ashynna
Gender:Mare
Age: 10 years old
Size: [use hands, from 11 (pony) to sixteen (gigantic by these horses' standards)]She is a bit short, 13 hands
Rank: (see adoptable page for details on this)Forager
Personality:Ashynna is a bit quiet, she was very young when her mother and father passed away, now she barely trusts anyone other than Basil, who is the mare that took care of her as she grew up. Although she is quiet she also has a temper. When she isn't feeling well, she gets upset over the smallest things, a tiny spec of moss smell on her fur can make her kick the wall..so other Equidius usually don't go near her when they sense her anger. You can usually tell how she feels by her scent, when she is happy her body lets out a soft calm scent like lilacs, since when shes happy she tends to lay down in flower type moss, that gives off a sweet scent, but when she is angry or frustrated, the scent of her skin is harsh and fungus like, since she will lay in moss that is close to decaying, just to keep the rest away.
Story or history:
I haven't always been a strong silent horse....no when I was younger I was so full of life and spirit it was funny...but something happened that made me loose that spirit as well as my parents.
It happened when I was only about a year old, my parents were foragers, so they took me out of the caves for the first time, it was a strange place...with a bright thing that shown from the sky? I think my mother called it. My father decided to scout ahead, to make sure there were no dangerous creatures walking around while me and mom started finding vegetation for the rest of the herd. I heard something that sounded like a chirp near my foot, so while my mother was collecting some edible moss, I decided to follow the new creature. Laughing softly I followed it past some rocks covered with blue moss, and than pass some yellow covered ones. It was really a pretty place outside the caves that I only knew since birth. I giggled softly to myself as I pounced on the creature, as it sat still before hopping away again. Once I had my hoof on it, it stopped making noise, which made me sad...why didn't it want to play anymore? With tears running down my face, I turn around but just than I realize that I was lost...where was my parents?
I cried even harder, making the dust from the moss I disturbed stick to my neck as tears run down my skin. I was so upset, that I didn't hear the creature creeping up behind me. It had long claws, but was smaller than my parents, which is why it went after baby animals that were its size. The creatures long tail whipped back and forth as it crept up on me, I turned around and saw it right before it pounced, letting out a whinny for my parents. This caused the creature to pause just long enough for my mother to come racing over to where the creature was hiding behind some rocks and moss. She ran over and scared it away..pounding on the ground around the creature, causing it to turn tail and run off into the forest of moss that wasn't really that far from where I was standing. My father came from the other side as soon as the creature ran off, but there was a look on his face that I never seen before...He told my mother to get me in the caves now...it was too much danger outside.
As soon as my mother had me tucked in our cave, she went back out...and she told me she and father would be back soon....but I never saw her again...
Ever since that day, I wont go outside, I prefer the caves that I know how to maneuver through, the outside is too full of creatures that I don't trust or understand.
