Zeichenstift Hunds
(Crayon Hounds)
Crayon Hounds are a genetically engineered dachshund with the strange ability to consume pigment. These bouncy little dogs that look much like crayons have an appetite for many, many colors, and they turn these consumed pigments into crayons as they digest them. Each Crayon(as they are affectionately known) has a special pigment that is their life force. When the pigment itself or the components to make the pigment are consumed, it gets stored in the form of a thin wax within special pouches in their cheeks. These pouches pump it through their whole body, and because it's such a big part of them, this pigment also becomes their favorite color of crayon to use. In fact, the only form of pigment they cannot consume is the waxy little coloring sticks they produce.
In order to reproduce, two or more crayons will collectively create a drawing with the colors of their life force. It doesn't have to be anything pretty, but will often take the shape of a dachshund or other canine. These special pigments will birth a new Crayon similar to all its parents. However, sometimes there are Crayons who are orphans. These Nibs(or pups) are often the result of a child's drawing in their own favorite color, and are usually very readily taken into a family of other Crayons with or without Nibs for it to play with.
