Reasoning for name or short ≤300 word backstory
Myopia is named for the disability with which they are afflicted as well as their greatest companions. Nearsightedness is their only "medical" downfall. Of course, Myopia's nearsightedness is only psychic. This results in far more stumbling around than that of most Flox. They've taken to using their psychic projection more like psychic echolocation, sending out little echoic pings to their surroundings and avoid running head-first into things.
They also named themselves Myopia for other reasons; Myopia's love of bats has lead to a deeper relationship and companionship with them, hanging out in barns and other such assorted bat aviaries. Myotis lucifugus is the scientific name for the brown bat, one of Myopia's better friends. They usually can be found together on most days, rather than nights because days are the only times at which Myopia can draw them without interruption. Myopia has filled approximately 3 notebooks to date, sketching hundreds of unique bats, capturing their behaviors and thought patterns with the strokes of graphite. These thought patterns are the ways they are able to identify each bat individually and they can communicate to the bats through this channel.
