My idea is that this cat-ish species protects a small planet and is in charge of their planet (the round thing by the tail) and the orbs between it's shoulder blades are it's power source.
Will probably be adding more and possibly adding nursery lines and a few other things (background, pallets, gender symbols etc.)

Your artwork is just fine, you just need a little more practice.
It took me a loooooot of years to improve my artwork, and I'm sure you'll be even better than me one day.
