A Morsell (more-cell) is a small rodent roughly the size of a squirrel. They are never larger, but some have been found that are as small as a mouse. They have short, soft fur that makes them great at cuddling with long, bushy tails for extra warmth. Their diet consists mainly of nuts and berries, though they don't mind other fruits and green vegetables. They are born blind but not deaf, with their eye sight only starting to develop as they reach the teen stage and ending up fully developed as an adult. Because of this, they have excellent senses of smell and hearing, and are quite adept at navigating in the dark without the aid of their eyes. They are a semi-nocturnal species, being the most active during sunrise and sunset but still hunting at night when absolutely necessary.
Females will typically have longer tails to help keep the kits warm as they grow, as well as slightly longer fur.
Base coats are dull with brighter markings (no neon or rainbow), and eyes will always hold a tint of gray even in adulthood. Kits' eyes are gray, gaining color as their sense of sight develops.
2-3 kits per litter on average.
