MeddFinn's Species Competition: My Entry

Postby LovelyLilac » Tue Apr 15, 2014 11:20 pm

So yeah, this is my entry for MeddFinn's species competition. Here's the species info:

Korno Lutros
The name of this species is korno lutro, which means “horn otter”. A male korno lutro is called a bull, and a female is called a cow. A baby korno lutro is called a pup, and a group of them is called a romp. The scientific name is Horn luter.
Appearance
Korno lutros are otters that stand at about five and a half feet tall at the shoulder. Their bellies feel like silk, and they are very long. All have white markings on their faces that go down to their throat or chest, though these markings vary greatly. They have short legs with five fingers on their hind legs. On their front legs, they have wide hooves. They have tails that extend for a full two feet behind them and horns that can also vary. There are two main types of korno lutros. The first kind always has some kind of black or dark brown marking, and the second has horns that curve backwards. Cows have some kind of reddish markings. The horns do not start developing until the korno lutro is an older pup.
Food
Korno lutros eat a lot of grass using their teeth. They will also eat crabs and frogs, diving underwater and using their whiskers to detect their food.
Habitat
Korno lutros can be found in swamps, forests, and grassland. They like places with plenty of shelter and plantlife.
