How is this looking as lines? I've never drawn an otter before so I don't know how wrong this looks :P

It's looking good so far, I think you've got a pretty good handle on the anatomy based on the sketch :) The tail could maybe be a little bit longer, but with the limited canvas size it's not necessary.
