Species Bio:
Haregons are very interesting creatures. They are dragons with the head, ears and paws of a rabbit. They are born as eggs and hatch into small rabbit-like creatures with long lizard tails. They are completely defenseless at this stage and are often watched carefully by their mother. Adult haregons will have poorly developed wings due to their breeding. These wings are used as a last resort in case of danger.
For defense, females have horns atop their heads and a three-pronged tail 'fringe'. Males have spines along their head and neck and a tail 'fringe' with five prongs. They can also have back plates similar to those of a stegosaurus and some have claws on their forepaws. Both genders are usually found with small leaf-like spines on their legs.
Auma Necklace:
The auma necklace is a necklace that protects the Haregon's dragon-like qualities. The auma orb is most commonly the same color as the Haregon's eyes, but isn't always. If it is smashed/lost as an egg, the egg will never hatch. If it is smashed/lost as a baby, the haregon will grow up without a tail fringe or wings. If the auma necklace is smashed/lost when the haregon is an adult, it will lose its wings and tail fringe. Males will lose their spines and females will lose their horns.
