Species Name: Wind Felines
Habitat: You can find us in wind-worn moorlands, or frozen mountains. Places where the wind is strongest is where we reside.
Diet: We are carniviourous, eating small rodents such as domestic cats. We also eat birds, and larger variations eat hawks and eagles.
Size: We range from the size of a domestic cat to the size of a panther. Larger sizes are rare, for it makes it harder to surf the wind. Our kits are about the size of a Kiwi when born, a peach after about a week, then a grapefruit in a month. We are small, but powerful.
Coloration/Markings: You cannot use me, Moon, as a good example of our colors. I am a rarity, they only happen once every century. The normal colors are usually silvery grays mixed in with blue. My friends Rock and Breeze (On the reference sheet) are good examples of our colors, we also usually have some tabby stripes or even swirls. We look like the wind would look. Our kits however, are born light bles, usually tints of what their colors will be. Instead of stripes, they are dappled, like a deer fawn.
Behaviour: The Wind Felines are a mischevious species. We enjoy scampering around our territories, and practicly looking for trouble. We are social beasts, living in little 'clowders' that hunt and dream togeather. They all look up to me, though. I am their godess. Although the one thing that distinguishes WFs from all other species is the ability to surf the wind. Sure, we have claws and fangs, but if all else fails, we leap into the air, and wrap around the currents that will take us back home. It takes a lot of skill, and it is one of the first things we teach our kits when they are born.
Are they domesticated?: Only a few adventurous WFs dare tread the same ground as the humans. You would be very lucky to find one as your companion.
Other interesting facts: We tend to have little companion pets that follow us around and help us. Mine happens to be a little moon phoenix, I must go find her. Now, where could she be off to this time...
