Dapple/fleabitten grey

Postby Eleski » Mon Aug 20, 2012 4:16 am

So I wanted to do a grey horse but I couldn't decide between a dapple or a flea bitten, and what came out was a bit of both.
Most people I think know what a dapple grey is, though often dapple greys have the grey coat color and lighter spots. What some people don't know is that all grey horses' coats turn lighter with age. Dapple grey horses don't stay dapple grey, and many of them turn into what you would call a flea bitten grey. They have an almost white looking coat, with dark speckles. They are not the same as a leopard appaloosa though of course.

Also, it isn't very noticeable but the horn is lilac with light grey speckles on it.

I'm not as proud of this one as I am my blue roan entry but I think its alright. I can't think of how to make it better right now
