Blue Roan...appaloosa?

The base is blue roan. There is a word for the spots but I can't for the life of me think of what its called so I guess for now i'll just say its appaloosa even though that's not quite right.
About the feathering, I notice almost all of your adopts have feathering. Is it any more or less rare? Or is it fairly even? Thank you =) I'd love being an artist. I've really fallen in love with his design and if I don't win I would still like to keep it if that's ok.
