The spearhead/arrow (you schoose what its called, they are just possibilities) dragon has a darker tone then when its grown up, like most dragon eggs, so that it doesnt atract egg-eating predetors. When they are grown up they dont need this defense, as all animals, except man and other dragons would ignore it or run away. Adult dragons usually put the eggs in cracks or dips in the ground so they dont roll away. Them falling isnt usually a problem as most dragon eggs are very solid.
