theory summed up-merchant has a brother who is a village-ruler. Merchant finds out a heap of rubble is a old royal castle, filled with treasures. they come across the Family Set, a necklace, a set of earrings, and a wrist brace with a decorations of the finest, smoothest gems. The Merchant tells his brother to keep others away, which is why there are rules and regulations, patrols around the village, and many fantasy stories of the haunted orchards. This keeps them away, except adventurous little(no-name for her yet). A cave-in occurs, trapping the Royal-Family jewelry on a level 5-accessible(very hard) area. No-name gets the whole set, and keeps them to herself, admiring them.

And you said you wanted to involve the queen and her guards, right? I'm guessing they hear about the jewelry and try to get it back? If that's what you have in mind, it's fine with me. ^^

Just one, minor thing; kartheans are mainly carnivores. The orchard idea could still work, just keep in mind the fruit would most likely be sold as treats, rather than being a major food source.

The story looks great so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it continues. ^^

that's why nobody cares, No-name hates fish(like me) she prefers fruits and any other land-animals she can snack on. she's been told it's unhealthy and she has plainly ignored them. the orchard place used to be owned by a faltering buisiness man since nobody really had enough money or wanted them, so when he was paid to leave it behind, he had no issues with that.

Yes...sorta on the guards. She goes over, the hood over her head and the box in hand, walking up to the guards that keep the door. They refuse her pass, she asks nicely, and they pull back her cloak. (Big scene......skippng)
She leaves the box of jewelry with The Queen's best friend/advisor/somebody loyal.
"You must give it to her, and her alone, tell no one of it's contents....when she has it, tell her it is a gift..."
(some other stuff....not including yet! lol

At the end...the Queen gets it. You can choose if she finds out or not. No-name is deathly loyal to the queen...she is a fanatic, a extremist if you put it. She would turn herself in if the queen ordered it, even cut her hair...

sweet, well, I'll be typing away...so you can always tell m if something doesn't fit right. and if you have a personality for the Queen, I can always put that i there...but this is mainly from No-name's point of view. Adding in details, of course....

Love what you have so far! ^^ I like the idea of a blink as a greeting--mind if I add that to my information for the species?

Just one thing--blue or green eyes are very rare, and so far you have both Jasvelle and Alle with them. That's fine, but any other kartheans you plan on introducing should have the more common yellow/orange/red eyes, or the slightly more uncommon brown.

Haven't decided on a personality for the queen yet, aside from a vague idea that she's a bit strict and not all that merciful. I'm still working out how much to reveal about her, since I do want to keep her a bit mysterious.

I had in mind, she have more of a human-blue...like that pale grey-blue...but I can always make them different. Let me see what I can substitute....

well, I can work off that. she'll only get a tiny scrap of a scene at the end. A faint brush of a hand as she takes the box, fingering the latch as she lifts it with care and a creeping of a smile across her face. That's pretty much all I have in mind for her...Jasvelle can't have a extremely important life, she has to be able to hide in the shadows, the alleys, to not be recognized or to have tales of her poison her enviroment.

and yeah, it would be great to let the blink be a common greeting, but Jasvelle is a extremely silent, non-talkative Karth, so she never really says hello, but it would keep from suspicion arising, adding to the softness of her public impact...

You can see a colour chart here. Even the kind of blue that would be common for a human is rare for kartheans.
