Hey there! If you're reading this, you're probably interested in applying for a position as an artist for the Tornellian adopts! If you are, you should read the following information first:
Artist Rules:
- ~A full artist may make a custom once every five regular adopts they make
~A guest artist may make up to two customs during their tenure
~A GA tenure lasts either seven designs (up to two of which may be custom), or one month, whichever comes first.
~Only full artists may make rare/very rares torneys.
~Torneys should not have recognizable logos or symbols on them, although they may occasionally have writing on them
~Torneys should not be designed after a specific fandom character. Having a design themed after a fandom is one thing (see the Harry Potter/Marauders Map Torney), but having a torney supposed to be Loki or Sherlock or the Doctor is quite another. As long as the design is not recognizable as a specific character (e.g., a deerstalker hat is one thing, a dark colored torney with dark curly hair, a blue scarf, and a long coat is quite another.)
~Designs may or may not use the shading layers. That's up to the artist's personal preferences
Competition Information:
- ~Before entering, please familiarize yourself on the species backstory, found on the main page. Designs not conforming to that information will not be considered.
~You may make up to five entries (more information on that in the next section), all of which must be under a cover. No designs should be visible from this page, but if I were to click on the cover, I should be able to see all of your entries.
~Do not steal designs from other species/cs pets/characters you've seen.
Entry Information:
As mentioned before, you may have up to five entries. However, each of these entries must fit one of the following catagories. You may have only one entry in each category. Each entry should plainly state what category they belong to, although they do not need to be done in order.
Cover Page
This is where all information for your entries will be put. I'll need you to fill out the following form as well, and put it there:
- Code: Select all
Username:
How long have you been on CS?:
Have you worked for any other adoptables?: (don't worry, it won't count against you if you haven't!)
If yes, which ones?
Gallery Link:
Any designs you want to include that aren't in your gallery for me to see?
Anything else?
Category One: Impress Me
Exactly what it says on the tin. Go wild with line edits, designs, etc. This is your chance to showme your versatility as an artist.
Category Two: Dream Torney
One of the prizes is to have one of your entries copied over onto the official lines. This is your chance to show me exactly what you want in a torney.
Category Three: Monochrome
Choose one color, use any shade of it, but don't adjust the hue. This is for me to see how you work within constraints.
Category Four: Color Palette
Using this generator, use the first palette it gives you and do a design. I'm trusting you that you don't keep hitting the generate button until you get one you like. Again, this is to see how you work within constraints.
Category Five: Inspiration
Find an image. It could be a piece of art you admire, a pretty landscape, a flower, something. Put the image in the message area of the entry, and do a design based on it. This is kind of the least important category.
Overall Constraints:
At least one entry must use the shading, and at least one must not use the shading. If you only enter once, that entry must use the shading. You may provide your own shading if you prefer.
No more than three entries may have accessories or line edits, if submitting more than one, at least one of those must have an edit or accessory of some sort.
Important Dates:
Artists will be chosen periodically as the competition progresses. All judging will be completed by the 31 of January.
Prizes:
I'm sure that this is the part that everyone's been waiting to hear about.
There will be a grand total of seven prizes handed out to winners.
~Two entrants will be chosen as full artists.
~Three entrants will be chosen as guest artists, with the possibility of being promoted to full artist after their tenure ends
~Two more entrants will not be chosen as artists, but will get their "dream torney" design put on the main thread.
All winners will have their dream design copied to the official lines.
Good luck!
