On the world of Lectarus the are strange lands filled with monsters and warriors; and it is not on land that the dragons lurk but deep beneath the sea never reaching the surface. The lands of Lectarus, both Aragus and Garan, have dark and beautiful life but it is in the ocean that the most beautiful of creatures dwells. It is there that the things of legends live whose lives span over a 100 years. The Syads, the most precious stones of Lectarus's crown jewels.

Hello there and welcome to the first artist search for my new species the Syads! There are just a few things I need to say before you all begin working on your designs which I'm sure are going to be gorgeous. So please read the following rules and guidelines below. Thank you.
Rules:
○Please read the official thread before creating your designs. This is in your best interest because of course I can't hire you if you have no idea what you need to be doing.
○If you are not chosen as an artist you do NOT get to keep your designs. Currently only official artists are allowed a custom Syad so only the 3 top winners will get to keep ONE design.
○Do not whine or complain
○Only 5 entries per person so try to make them the best that you possibly can! You are allowed to include 2 mutated Syads to show off your line edit skills. Please understand that these mutations need to be deep sea oriented. Also all of your entries will need to have accessories since this is a big part of who the Syads are.
○It is preferred that you make a cover page for your entries.
○Do not steal other people's designs. I will be watching.
○Any entries posted after midnight on 9/28 will be ignored. A month should be plenty of time.
Well now that that's over here's the good part!
Winnings:
(Note that official artists get to have 2 customs in total. You can choose not to keep your design from this competition and make a custom once accepted. 2nd custom is not to be created until you have been an artist for a month and have released 3 designs.)
First Place: Official artist for the Syad and get to keep one approved design (does not include mutated Syads) + rare surprise.
Second Place: Official artist for the Syad and get to keep one approved design (does not include mutated Syads) + uncommon surprise.
Third Place: Official artist for the Syad and get to keep one approved design (does not include mutated Syads)
Fourth Place: Guest artist for August & September.
Fifth Place: Guest artist for September & October.

Please note though, if the end date comes and there are no entries that I feel hold to the Syad standard then I will compensate the winners with pet prizes but no artist positions.
