♒What are Nudibranch Inu's?♒
Nudibranch is the scientific name for sea slug, and Inu is 'dog' in Japanese. That's hwo their species name was created. Nudibranch Inu's are a species of half canine, half sea slug. These creatures look like the common dog, however, they also have distinctly different features. For example, their fur is waterproof; acting as feather-like-fins and giving this creature more ease while swimming. This 'fur' also hides their gills- though this creature's underbelly is covered by scales. These creature's have slightly longer-than-normal necks too, as you'll probably notice. Also, instead of tails, they have something of a similar substance to a sea-slug's cerata. Surprisingly, instead of fins, these 'canines' still have paws though. They also have a fully functional nose, eyes, ears, lungs, and vocal cords. This proves that these animals can also stay on land. Nudibranch Inu's never swim into the deep sea anyway. These creatures eat several foods; small fish (mostly begin colorful ones), sea weed, and choral. Of course there are also several more, though only things close enough to the shores.
Extra info;
They swim by using a doggy-paddle style, though they cover much more area with their limbs. They stretch their 'arms' out to full length, being to able to lay completely flat on their stomachs if they wanted. Bone studies have shown that these creatures have actual functioning shoulders, which is why these dogs can stretch their arms nearly completely straight out above their heads. Most call these strange creatures 'Nudinu' for short.
"Nudinu" communicate through small yips and whine-like sounds, usually creating beautiful notes and eventually sounding like a song. Many say their 'voices' are most beautiful in a large group, since these chatty creatures seem to all talk at the same time- in a harmonic. When threatened, they will release an actual eardrum shattering bark and escape using their fast limbs. Through water, or on land. They're incredibly fast animals.
Nudibranch Inu's are relatively docile, and seem not to mind the human presence much. Once in a while though, they'll willingly let you touch them. These dogs are very loyal, however, they don't seem very trusting of you. Meaning, while they may seem very trusting and loving, one foul action and they don't seem to mind leaving you altogether. Hint hint, follow all the rules.
The only difference between the males and females would be their genitals. Nudibranch Inu's can reproduce male x female, male x male, or female x female. Once 'dominated', the 'submissive' inu's inner organs activate giving them the option of birth. It seems they are born with these organs, though they only activate once they sense their mate's pheromones.
Rules/Notes
- -Please visit the main thread and check out the rules there.
-While these animals vary in color due to their relation to sea creatures (and tropical fish are very colorful), please try not to make our eyes bleed.
-Please try not to procrastinate during this contest. While we understand that everyone has real lives, begging for extra time because of w.i.p. forms doesn't really give us the impression that you'll be a reasonably active artist.
-May add more rules later, but basically use your common sense. No 5 minute pieces, no art theft, no rudeness etc.
