♦ TRUSTWORTHY ♦ NURTURING ♦ PROTECTIVE ♦ OVERBEARING ♦
♦ CONFIDENT ♦ AGGRAVATING ♦ EXTROVERTED ♦-------Being a king calls for strong self discipline and constant seriousness. Right? Well, kinda. Some criticize him, but King Beaumont is the opposite of a stoic and all business ruler. He loves throwing celebrations for almost any occasion he can, and will usually be seen guffawing hysterically. Sure, he can be solemn during dangerous times. One example can be during a war, or when he has to make an important decision. After everything hes been through, though, he believes he deserves to relax and allow himself to be happy. What good does moping around and frowning do? Your time is best spent laughing.
Him relishing in the joy around him has caused him to appear more down to earth and approachable. Most Avarians seem to trust him, especially since they see him as an actual person, and not some impossible to reach figure on a pedestal. He often opens the castle to allow citizens to visit, and will leave it himself to socialize with his subjects. He thinks that he is better serving his country for Cerridwen by being there for it, rather than distancing himself from it. He considers himself a man of the people, constantly trying to know about the situation of the community. Instead of sending others to do things for him, he is a true leader by doing his own work and service with his own hands. You'll find him on the front lines in battle, not in the back.
-------Beaumont has an incredibly soft spot for children, and often ends up taking several under his wing (literally) at a time. He is incredibly nurturing and protective towards them, knowing they are part of the future. He recognizes that he is making a mistake by allowing himself to become attached to them, as he will always outlive them and end up burying them. He can't control these impulses, though. Many have gotten the best of him by taking his children as prisoners and hostages. Every time he loses a child, he is thrown into a bout of depression that is hard to escape. His constant celebrations could be a coping mechanism. This causes him to be paranoid about his children's fates, so sometimes he abandons his usual persona in favor of being overbearing.
-------Despite what that being what you'd call a weakness, Beaumont continues to stay confident in himself and his abilities. You could even call him a show off with how he acts sometimes, purposefully displaying weak points in battle to prove himself. It's gotten him into so much trouble. He'll practically paint a target on his chest and puff it out, daring his enemies to attack him. This taunting is very annoying, and might drive them to abandon rationality. You could call this a tactical move, but he probably doesn't do it because of that.
-------The king gets his energy from others, making him an extrovert. He prefers not to be alone, and spends his downtime around family and friends. He is susceptible to becoming lonely, and if left on his own for long enough, will break down. A majority of those who know him would never believe it, but he relies on others for emotional support. As what he considers a man of the people, the people are a vital part of him.-------Cerridwen divinely created Beaumont as a servant to the mortals she was mother to. She revealed to him that she needed him to help create a country of those that inhabit the skies and carry out her will via protecting and strengthening it. Once he arrived in Organia, he soon recognized why this land needed him. Avaria, or as it was previously and most commonly known as, the Eternal Wood. It was given this name by the inhabitants, because of how far and wide the forests of it spanned. For hundreds of years, the progress of life was halted continuously by extensive battles between many tribes.
He traveled to each tribe, asking the same thing each time; "Why do you war?"
-------The first tribe he discovered was the smallest in population. He was met with cautious hostility, but once they recognized he was alone, they allowed him entry. "Why do you war?" he asked. "For survival. Our people are few, and our only chance to survive is to defend ourselves from those that attack us for the scarce resources we have."
Beaumont moved on to the second, the third, the fourth, and so on. They all had only slim pickings of assets, their only odds within attacking the other tribes for what they had.
-------After realizing this, Beaumont spent many days creating a feast for all clans that would have it. Some came peacefully, trusting this stranger, others attacked or stayed away, wary of this being a trap. As the festivities went on, Beaumont convinced several groups to ally or merge with each other. The celebration continued for months, giving plenty opportunity to join his party to become stronger together.
-------As it ended, the Eternal Wood was more peaceful than it had ever been. It became united under a new name; Avaria, for the majority of its population was feathered. However, across the ocean, was a land that saw a threat in the amassing of the clans. Mirroring their actions, they created their own empire, one that was more tightly bound with control and, as a result, stricter. Under its own name, Felidopia, for the feline creatures that inhabited it, it declared war on Avaria.
-------The conflict continued for a dozen years, until Avaria's neighboring countries recognized the struggle of its peaceful fellow. Previously, the avians had been very amiable towards them and given them gifts and aid in times of famine, plague, and drought. Their loyalty was what brought them their friends in battle. And so the scaled, finned, furred, canine, aquatic, and other walks assisted them in pushing back the enemy.
-------Felidopia, recognizing its defeat, humbly offered an end to the war. Avaria gratefully accepted, and extended an arm of ally-ship. However, the long lived conflict had done too much damage to ever trust them, so they refused. Conflict between the two countries still exists, and is getting more heated, especially since Avaria refuses to cut ties with Felidopia's largest enemy, Canidia. Beaumont's challenges and accusations certainly aren't helping, either.
♛ [ FAMILY : ]♦ VERITY ♦ DAUGHTER ♦Verity is one of Beaumont's many, many adopted children.
Despite having all of these kids, he manages to smother
her anyway. She doesn't live at the castle anymore, but he
still manages to visit her regularly. He always puts forth an
effort to show he cares and loves her just as much as any of
the others.
She gets a little annoyed by this sometimes, and they argue,
as all parents and children do, but they can't stay mad at
each other.♦ CERRIDWEN ♦ MOTHER ♦Despite many calling her kind and loving, his
mother is very... arrant. Beaumont serves her,
and she is also his mother, so she is one of the
few he won't argue with and try to rile up.
He does revere her heavily, but he doesn't
believe in placing her on a pedestal like
everyone else does. It's because he knows just
as well as her that they are equals.
He loves her as much as you should love a mother,
and drops by the Land of the Holy often to spend
time with her.by Papa Matt
Things get a little heated up when Beaumont gets competitive♛ [ COUNTRIES : ]♦ FELIDOPIA ♦ PRIMARY ENEMY ♦
-------It's really hard to live in Organia without hearing of the feud of Canidia and Avaria against Felidopia. Ever since the rise of these countries, there has been only distrust. So much so, that there previously was a witch hunt for bird and dog Organians in Felidopia. They would disappear without a trace, hardly ever escaping back into freedom.
-------This is all because of the fear that the Felidopians felt when seeing the unification of the other countries. They were afraid of the competition coming for their land, so they chose the intimidation route of playing the offensive that sparked this. It took the rising of Canidia, Swimonia, and Furtopia all together to end the war.
-------Beaumont attempted to create a friendship with Felidopia, but it was too late, especially after the brutal defeat they experienced. Nothing can repair the hatred they harbor for each other now.
♦ AMPHIBISTAN ♦ NEUTRAL ♦-------Previously, Amphibistan had been one of Avaria's many allies. However, their alliance was not ever that strong, and they hardly could trade as easily because of the distance between them.
-------Because of past dictators, Beaumont watched Amphibistan become an ally of Felidopia and have a small scale war with the Rodentian Isles. Because of the stronger alliance with Swimona, the Isles' closest partner, Avaria had to cut ties and gain a more neutral relationship with Amphibistan.
♦ RODENTIAN ISLES ♦ ALLY ♦-------Due to the long standing relation with Swimonia, Avaria naturally is an ally of the Rodentian Isles as well. However, they've seen much damage to their economy, and not wanting to create its own depression, Avaria stays out of the financial situation when possible. It hasn't completely abandoned it, but most of the help it gains from keeping its head above the water is from Swimonia. Beaumont has supported the idea of Swimona to merge with the Rodentian Isles territory, often arguing with Swimonian leaders that disagreed.
♦ SWIMONIA ♦ ALLY & TRADING PARTNER ♦-------Swimonia has always been one of Avaria's biggest partners. It was the second force that joined with Beaumont's to fight back against the offending Felidopians. The two countries have grown next to each other, side by side, for a long time. They gain much prosperity from each other, especially from trading massively.
-------At first, Avaria didn't have nearly as many resources as Swimonia. Compared to its material rich mines and vast oil reserves, it was practically an empty wasteland with only an agricultural and tourist market to compete. Now, with Swimonia's generosity, it has gotten it onto an equal playing field so they could better team up.
♦ CANIDIA ♦ NEUTRAL ♦-------Canidia was the first to fight with the Avarians against Felidopia. It had already been having a lot of struggles with the country, much before the unification, because it had the lofty goal to dominate it. When Felidopia had picked a fight with Avaria, it had just given them a common enemy and a reason to fight together, despite it happening on accident by way of two armies meeting each other on their way to their enemy.
-------However, many, many years later, Canidia had become more isolated and closed its borders off to all but Furtopia. Beaumont believes this to preserve the culture or something along those lines.
-------With the possible war brewing between Felidopia and Canidia, Avaria's offer of an alliance still stands.
♦ LAND OF THE HOLY ♦ HOME ♦-------This closed off land is very familiar to Beaumont. This was the place he was created, and the first actual land he saw. Avaria is his home, but the Land of the Holy is as well. He often thinks about it when he is homesick.
-------He travels here often, usually to spend time with Cerridwen and the priests. He maintains as close a relationship to her as possible, upholding his duty to rule for her and the people. Obviously, he isn't as close to the monks that inhabit this land, but he knows many of them on a first name basis. They hold mutual respect for each other.-------This may shock you, but Beaumont's primary ability is electricity manipulation. This is a very useful power, because it has a lot of applications. He could simply use it for vaporizing enemies and super speedy travel, or, more commonly, in other ways.
-------He can crawl walls, create electric fields, heat things up (like food, no need for microwaves!), and charge up electronics. He does these kinds of things with this power more often, because zapping yourself thousands of miles away or literally vaporizing enemies off the face of the planet takes a lot of energy. To generate electricity, he has to use his own body's energy to create it. Vaporizing just one person will make him incredibly tired and in need of a rest. Every power has its own limitations, and sometimes you have to use it on a lower scale to avoid dying of exhaustion.
-------To avoid this, however, he can absorb electricity to replenish himself. Every volt is contributed to his being, so when it storms, you will often find Beaumont outside, in the skies. He is a living lightning rod, you could say.
Congratulations my dude you are our winner!
