What is this world like?
Are there humans, do dogs rule everything, do you have any supporting characters that are relevant to the story, what's the protagonist, what audience is this book aimed at?

Haha no problem, I love answering questions! So this world is located in a city/urbanized setting. So the dogs ceom from all over. Right now the main characters travel. The Underground Pawroad is the place they find. An abandoned Subway well hidden from aging that they use as their refuge. I enjoy woodsy/city backgrounds. Like on a golf course or in a park with trees and woods. The city is sourrounded by woods, so they kinda group towards the outskirts beccause it's away from humans. So there are humans but this is a society of dogs too scared of humans to even associate with them. Any humans they meet either don't care about them or are looking to "rescue" them, but really want to use them for bait at a dog fight for example. All of these dogs have traumatic backstories. Whether it's from abuse, being thrown in dog fights or races, or neglect. All of these dogs have had a life altering terrible experience with humans. My supporting characters are Silaluk (Great Pyrenees), Shadow (Gray Wolf mix), Jinx, (A Sheltie mix), and a red-nosed pitbull that is currently unnamed. The protagonist is really just them avoiding humans, battling with other dogs in a "right and wrong" conflict about creating packs. Bear (a large Alaskan Malamute/ Saint Bernard mix) is like the bad guy. He controls dogs by fear and disposes of them when they cease to be useful to him. Nikita (The main character/ white Saluki with one blue eye, one brown eye, scars on ears, shoulder, and permanently injured right hind paw), is the main "hero" if you wanna put it that way. She creates the better society where the dogs rescue each other and create a system of survival. Almost like a family. The audience is aimed between 8-16 year olds. But mostly dog lovers will really enjoy this book. Any other questions?

Just one more question. The dogs live in a abandoned subway. So is the whole portion of the city abandoned? Because, right now I'm imagining dull, rundown, building and roads with vines or shrubbery snarling around them. I'm asking because I don't want to get your setting wrong and potentially confuse your readers.

No just the subway is abandoned. If you wanna offer some ideas for details, I'm totally up for it! I could really use it, hehe. But yes, the basic setting is in an underground "city" for dogs rescued from the cruelty, laziness, and neglect of humans. They find an abandoned subway so old and covered with vines that people have simply forgot about it. It's like super old and cities have been built on top of it so it serves as a good place for the dogs to hide. It's got several secret entrances, including one through a storm drain.
