not necessarily. just because something was made a longer time ago, on cs, doesn't matter with this situation. they were both made years ago, and can no longer be gotten. and the store pet can be worth real money. something to do with real money is more worth than something that isn't.

and if they felt like they were getting cheated, they could withdrawal. the creator tried to make the prize better and get more attention for the competition.

I started my entry before I realized that was the prize.
If it's not switched to dalmatian, I'll probably take my entry and drop out.

That's not how rarity works here. Sure, you had to pay for it. But regardless, there is still a gap between '12 and '09.
And there is a possibility to get either pet again on RE-release day. Technically, you can't get either one anymore, unless they're re-released.

I don't really mind because I actually like that store pet., and it's better than nothing. (sheep horns <3) But I think someone else will see it as false advertising and get upset, since the Dalmatian, I believe, is worth more.'

also, i know how rarity works here. I joined in 2012. That's why i said 'with this situation'. In many others, the '09 pets with surely be worth more. But I, personally think the current prize is worth more. At the end I said 'but we all have opinions' implying that it was my opinion.

Also, you mentioned a gap between '09 and '12 but 3 years, if you think about it, is not that much.

the author has the right to change the competition however she wants, and it is not against the rules to change the prize.

I personally, am chill with either prizes o.o I just enjoy the chance to make weird, unique and interesting species.
For me, I'm mostly in this for the chance to draw and better my skills; not the prize.

But, on the same token, I understand the frustration or cheated feeling that other contestants might be feeling. It's as if your parents said "if you clean your room I'll give you $20" then, as you complete it/are about to complete it, they change it to "I'll buy you something worth $20."
It's just not the same thing. And should be discussed in a diplomatic manner.

I don't mind the pet. I like either one. (Personally the store pet is nicer-looking than the dalmatian. I just know the dalmatian has more demand, because it is older.) I was trying to explain that the sheep-dog-thing is not worth the same as the dalmatian, and that was what shadow gal was saying.
Yes, I entered the contest. But I thought the store pet was for second place. I mixed the prizes up. And on the drawing, it says DALMATIAN. It's my concept and my work. If I don't agree with the prize change, I am free to take my entry and go. It was a nice competition, but I'd much rather keep my entry if the prize changed, no matter how much I like the new prize. I drew age lines, and added details. It took my time and effort.
'Sides, there's plenty of other people who entered and don't care which one it is.

ahh well it's a shame you dropped out. to me both prizes are special in their own way. i just prefer the store pet. i appreciate that it took your time and effort, and the cover was changed today. but really, your design was very original and you shouldn't say ''Sides, there's plenty of other people who entered and don't care which one it is.' as it can offend various people.
