are the fur types only the colours, and can we add out own markings to the types?

for example, the dappled blue, it already has markings but may we add our own?

To answer this simply, yes. The dapples can be in different places, arranged in a certain order, be different colors/shades etc. The fur types are similar in nature to how species of dogs/cats have their own pelt color and such, but the placement of said colors can be put in different places as well as the markings.
