Well here are some free tips for talons or claws in general.
1. First, look up some images of a eagles talon, or whatever bird your planning on designing your gryphon after.
2. Look up the bone structure or a gryphon(Posted on your first lineart)
3. Look up the bone structure of a bird of prey or raven
4. After you got allll those references, then give an attempt at a talon.
Remember, a talon for a bird of prey is usually three toes in front, while the 4th talon/toe is used as support for a bird in the tree. the 4th claw is not like the Dew Claw of a wolf or feline, It dose not come out further up the foot. They are at the base, right behind the front talons. If the foot/claws is lifted, it comes almost a circle for the pad(the part it steps onto XD)
Smaller birds can have the dew claw like talons, that while flying sometimes lay at the side. It depends on the bird your looking at how the 4th claw lays. But Birds of prey(What Kai's gryphons are based off of) its almost always right behind the three front claws.
Osprey is an exception to this rule having two toes in front and two in back when holding a fish. The side claw is able to move as such so the fish is easier to hold
