Iris would definitely consider herself a follower, as they're willing to go along with pretty much any plan - bar something that'd get her killed, naturally. They do have some common sense. At times, they'd say she's a loner, because she really does enjoy staying with her plants and not talking to anyone for a week, but the truth is that if somebody she cared about came and suggested a trip out, they would agree immediately. She could never leave without watering her plants, of course, but they'd still agree just because - why not, it sounds like it'll be fun!
