She has enough on the island to keep her comfortable for a thousand years. The rivers are full of fish, and in the spring, fruit grows heavy on the branches of a myriad of fruit trees. Water bubbles up, cold and clear from the ground. Waves crash onto the stoney beaches. At night, a lighthouse casts it’s pale, bright light out over the sea. Seabirds swoop over the sand, and fireflies dance at night.
It’s gorgeous.
But, so, so lonely.
Beatriss has not seen another kalon in...Months? Years?
Not since she was taken.

Beatriss wants to leave the island. Beatriss is going to find her way back home, off the island. She will get across the ocean, even if it takes her years. The world is large, and her island, her prison, is so, so small.
They want her to forget, but she will not.
