About the parents:
Matwau had originally came from captivity. Having been shot in the back of the leg by a hunter when he was younger. The only reason he was able to survive that encounter, was because a nearby friendly farmer had rushed to his rescue after hearing the gunshot. After that, He was then taken to a local wildlife centre to be treated and later released back into the wild. Even though he went on to recover from the incident and was later released, he still carried a slight limp. Fortunately, it wasn't very noticeable and therefore did little to hinder him when it came to either hunting or escaping danger.
Sometime after the first few months of his regained freedom, Matwau came across Izusa. Her snow white coat acting like a beacon from where she was stood in the middle of an open field. Seemingly oblivious to her surroundings. It wasn't until he made himself known to her, by accidentally stepping on a twig, that she seemed to finally snap out of her daze and bolt. This was how many of their interactions went, until one day the unknown female dared to approach him for help. At this point, she was fairly skinny and there were patches of her fur that were a different colour to the rest of her body. Something that was caused by her summer coat being delayed by trauma.
It was on this day that Matwau learnt Izusa was an arctic fox, one that had been illegally taken here against her will. Considering that one moment she was hunting a vole, and the next she was being tranquilized and stuffed into a bag. Before being transported across the ocean to who knows where. The only reason she was able to eventually escape her captors, was because one of them had foolishly left her cage unlocked after placing it down in the back of a truck. Allowing her to push it open, and make a painful leap off of the moving vehicle. Sending her tumbling down a hill, and winding up in a forest. Frightened and alone, Izusa had ended up running blindly in a random direction. Leading her to the same open field that Matwau had first met her in.
Because of her unfortunate circumstances, she has been struggling to adapt to her new 'home' and wishes for Matwau to help her. Something he was hesitant in doing at first, until he noticed the look of despair in her eyes. It was that look, coupled with his own bad experiences with humans, that had convinced him to help her. Both unaware of the future adventures and mischief they would later get into.
As one would expect, their relationship had been rocky at first. Due to the fact that Matwau wasn't always patient and Izusa was sometimes stubborn. But eventually the two began to know each other and started to grow close to one another. Something that eventually blossomed into love, and led to them becoming mates.

Matwau and Izusa's first litter had been one of five. Even though it was the couple's first time being parents, the two both equally loved their children to death. However, much like in real life, something happened to the litter that caused the pair to be left with only Rowtag and Nootau. Leaving many to wonder, what happened to the other three?.

What happened to them?: Klip caught a whiff of rabbit. He glanced over his shoulder, seeing his parents weren’t looking. This is my chance, the young one thought to himself. He darted after the sleek rabbit. Zig zagging in between the trees. Just as he thought he would catch it, he slid to a stop. There in front of him lied a steep cliff. He sighed a breath of relief just as the rabbit came up behind him and shoved him off. Lucky, he dug his claws into the side, which slowed his fall. Oh the irony!
