This April birthstone is one of the hardest substances in the world.

Interestingly enough, the Diamond wasn't commonly used as an engagement ring until the 20s, when the De Beers company ran a campaign to increase Diamond sales. This company had a monopoly on the Diamond industry till around 2005 when they were forced to give it up. Diamonds are actually more common than a lot of their gemstone companions but their limited release to the market pushes up their prices. Since they are so common Diamonds become almost worthless once they are purchased, which is the reason it is so hard to resell one.

Diamonds are believed to give victory to anyone who wears it on their left arm and are a symbol of innocence and consistency. Many ancient cultures valued the Diamond and believed it's hardness was the result of divine intervention.

Plato, in fact, believed Diamonds to be fermented stars and later Robert Boyle believed Diamond to be the result of water hardening.

This one has a slightly curled tail, floppy ears, and it's gem is on it's hind leg.

Well, while Watanuki was out one day, they took on their female form and walked about the town a bit, quite bored of their life and out of their mind with wanting something fun to do. 'She' walked right into the tavern of some old man and his canine partner, and while the man greeted his customers the canine took her to the back. Here, she saw many canines playing many games, and she walked up to the pinball machine. She stuck her tongue out in concentration as she worked it, and gave a bark of surprise when she got the high score of the day. Needless to say, 'she' took home a beautiful little Panda plush.

there's also Blue Diamond
considering the gems are physically genderless but all go by female pronouns, it also kind of makes sense regarding the story
