In memory of my long gone cat, Monty. A poem to you.
The wild cougar as we had joked,
The one who made us smile,
That is what you meant to us.
Taking you in from the forest,
Where nights were cold and harsh,
Where nobody loved you.
You were always our favorite,
With your funny and charming ways,
Until the day you left us.
You went back one night,
To the forest where life is rough,
Never to return.
We never knew what happened to you,
We searched for three week's time,
Giving up when hope was lost.
We keep you in our hearts,
A friend lost and never to be found,
Our kind young cat Monty.
