It's too cold...

Postby - ; bonk! » Sun Feb 28, 2016 9:53 pm

so I saw this editable and got really excited because it seemed to fit a story I found in my notebook a few days ago about Phillip and Lucifer. it's a pretty old story but still relevant enough, so I'll put it here in case anyone's interested. they're human in the story ofc, as all but a select few of my characters are.
this is ripped straight from the notebook, with all the grammar mistakes in the original. because it's 1 a.m and I'm not up for editing it. writing is not my best work for sure, this is three or four months old.
    " Lucifer?"
The boy lifted his head when he heard a familiar voice cut through the silence, calling his name. He didn't respond.
"Lucifer? Oh, thank goodness," Phillip breathed a sigh of relief when he finally reached Lucifer, and quickly seated himself on the bench beside him. He was panting and sweating despite the cold, and his face was a bright red.
"Gee, Shawn wasn't kidding. You really are fast," He chuckled half-heartedly, gently shoving the smaller boy's shoulder. "When you took off like that, we were worried you were gone for good. The other guys all gave up searching."
Lucifer grunted in acknowledgement and looked away from his friend, silently willing him to disappear so he could be alone for a while. He didn't run all the way out here for nothing. Phillip stared at him with a look of concern plastered on his face.
"Luci? You okay, buddy?" He asked, putting a hand on Lucifer's shoulder.
"Weggehen, bitte," The dark haired boy said in response. His voice was quiet, hardly above a whisper. There was a slight scratch to it, as if he had a bad cold. Likely due to his screaming match with Bernadette earlier, Phillip assumed. The screaming match had been so loud, the neighbours called the police. He'd be surprised if Lucifer's voice wasn't a little worn out after hearing him yell like that.
"Nein. Undschuldigung." The older boy shook his head and responded slowly, hoping he hadn't completely bastardized the pronunciation of his German words. He was far from fluent in the language - he'd only learned the basics back when Lucifer had first been transferred, for the sake of making things easier on the kid.
"It's Entschuldigung," Lucifer snapped, glaring at Phillip before looking away again. "Not 'undschuldigung.' "
"Sorry. Entschuldigung," Phillip apologized, taking his hand off Lucifer's shoulder. "What's wrong? You never gave us any warning when you ran out like that."
"It's not important right now," Lucifer sighed, glancing at Phillip.
"Are you still upset over Bernadette?"
"No!" Lucifer snapped the second the words left Phillip's tongue. "Don't bring her into this."
The two sat in silence for a while, both thinking of what to say next. The only sound was the rain starting to pour down heavily.
"It's starting to rain," Phillip noted.
"No kidding," Lucifer grumbled. He shivered a little, wishing he'd brought a jacket. Stuck in just his faded purple t-shirt and a black pair of jeans with a hole in one knee, he was freezing.
"Are you cold?" His friend asked, that same look of concern appearing on his face again. "We should go back. You're going to get sick out here."
"No," Lucifer shook his head, though he was shivering. It was raining hard, and he was completely soaked from head to toe. "I don't want to go back there. I can't be around them all right now."
"Then for god's sake, at least put this on before you freeze to death!" Phillip groaned, taking off his leather jacket and handing it to Lucifer, who shoved it back at him.
"I'm not cold. You should go back so you don't get a cold. I'm gonna stay out here for the night."
"Then I'm staying, too," Phillip insisted.
"Fine," Lucifer agreed reluctantly. After a moment of silence between the two, he laid down and rested his head on Phillip's lap. He was cold, hungry, and just starting to realize how tired he truly was. The chaotic events the day brought had left him completely drained, though he didn't want to admit it. But as he lay there, his body numb from the cold, the thought of sleep became more and more tempting...
"Luci? You awake?" Phillip asked after Lucifer had been silent for a while. Receiving no response, he took his jacket and draped it over the sleeping boy.
