Theme #60: Pisces

Postby Neah » Wed Jul 22, 2015 1:13 pm

Fifth of the Zodiac themes.

This ones mark is on it's tail.

It has an awful lot of gold jewelry. I wonder why that is.

      Lirran
    Gender:
      Male
    Personality:
Due to his shortcomings with magic, the over-abundance of monsters in Nowhere, and the not entirely uncommon poisoning and assassinations among the hierarchy, Lirran is incredibly skittish and insecure, and can be easily startled. He sometimes acts haughty and stuck-up, though chances are it's either because you startled him badly or surprised him, embarrass him, or maybe you just caught him in a bad mood. Though he sometimes dislikes the tasks and orders given to him, he usually carries them out without complaint. He's startlingly resilient and seems to be able to get through many obstacles unscathed, though not necessarily unshaken. Lirran sometimes resents that he has to take orders and may occasionally mutter bad sentiments about certain people to himself under his breath and well out of earshot of the person or people in question or anyone who might relay his comment, but is also painfully aware of how dismal his grasp on magic is compared to just how much stronger and accomplished the other gods and demigods are and just how easily they could best him if it came to an all out magic battle and he slightly resents how completely he's at the mercy of the other gods. He's also well aware that chances are he only holds such a high position is because of Lady Helena. He'd not the strongest willed or the strongest minded and is more susceptible to feelings of jealousy, envy, and resentment. His somewhat overly fussy and frantic demeanor combined with his elevated position has lead to contempt and resentment on behalf of the other gods and demigods in Nowhere, though his perceived ignorance is tolerated considering he actually is quite useful, despite his inadequacy at magic. He's often treated like a young child to which everything needs to be explained simply, and it's lead him to resent and dislike the others. He's kept his dissent and hurt hidden in public and around others, but at home or on a particularly long trip to deliver specific orders or to take care of a specific task or oversee something he's usually not so reserved with his thoughts when no one is around, though even though he may say it aloud he takes care to keep his opinions private for fear of insulting the wrong person and very literally bringing the wrath of god down upon himself. He can be easily intimidated and often seems very placating to avoid conflicts or shouting matches, especially if said shouting is directed at him.
Thoughts on the other gods and notable residents of Nowhere:
Helena Akuma, also known as Lady Helena or Lady Hel
"She's alright I guess. She's nice enough most of the time, but it's always scary when she gets angry. Most people don't realize that when she gets mad, she doesn't lash out immediately and rage and shout. She gets deathly quiet and still, and when she finally does lash out at the offender, it's a quick and incredibly powerful burst of magic, like a lightning strike, literally smiting you down."
      Nero Abernathy
"He's...strange, to be completely honest. He's not seen around Nowhere very much anymore, and when he does stop by it's usually only very briefly. I'm not actually sure if he realizes it or not, but quite a few people fear and respect him, partially because of things he's done in the past, partially because of some things that have happened to him, partially because his powers far exceed those of many others here, partially because he's made abundantly clear that he's not afraid to be the first to resort to violence, and partially just because he's Lady Helena's grandson, though I suspect that it may also just because there really isn't very much known about him, aside from some blatantly obvious things, and he's just not at all inclined to share anything about himself with others."
      Marcus Aurelius Akuma, or Mark
"To be completely honest here, he's more than a little bit bratty and spoiled. Like most young children, he seems to have a knack for causing all sorts of mischief and getting into vast amounts of trouble, though of course he doesn't actually get in trouble and if he's punished at all it's usually only a slight rebuff. Though he can be quite snarky and stuck-up, naturally it's not difficult to upset him. Whenever Nero stops by, Marcus is always pestering him about something or other and following him everywhere, which of course irritates Nero to no end. It's not uncommon for them to be shouting at one another. Though Marcus shares her last name, he's not actually related to Lady Helena."
      Irren
"I haven't seen much of him, but I've heard that a great many people disapprove of his practice of 'reanimating the dead'. The few times I have met him, he was usually pretty quiet for the most part, not really wanting to talk to anyone, but he seems alright enough."
    Why the Jewelry?:
It is a symbol of wealth, status, and standing within the hierarchy of Nowhere. Lirran is constantly near Lady Helena, relaying her orders to those they were intended for, helping to keep some lesser and more subtle functions of the fortress, and to a lesser extent the entire realm, running, and just in general taking care of most of the lesser worries and complaints that reach her so she can focus instead on the greater problems presented by the monsters that roam the fringes of Nowhere and routinely attack it's inhabitants. He wears the jewelry partially out of vanity though also to a point out of defense and for protection. The gold bands are imbued with a special magic that warn him of any nearby or imminent danger, though they also help channel any magical or elemental powers he may use, as he is famously incompetent at wielding such powers and is very unlikely to actually do any significant damage to whatever he was aiming at. Chances are any bystanders are in more danger from him than whoever it was he was actually trying to hit. The bands try to help channel the energy and keep it directed at the target, but it doesn't have too much effect.

My little Pisces friend has housed himself with me for a bit to long so I'm going to go ahead and hand him over to you. Take good care of him.
