Commander agent Negative Zero was an agent for a top secret military base, but was recruited for a mission where his special talents would be needed. Him and some twenty-fourish other wolves were sent to a distant dwarf planet to do some research and see if a base could be set up in order to extract minerals. But something went wrong, and they were tracked down by the Combine, an old enemy of one or two of the other wolves selected. They put up a fight, and had few casualties at first; it seemed like they could weather the storm. Then a surprise ambush captured their captain and was holding her [yes, her] captive. The conditions were this : if they did not surrender within three days, or continued to attack the Combine, she would be killed. It seemed as if they would kill her anyways simply to settle an old rivalry. The most talented of the group, now only sixteen strong, agreed upon a surrender, but N-Z didn't believe the Combine would actually let them get away with that, and even selected two other wolves to accompany him on a rescue mission.
