Redline Species

Postby DredgeMaggots » Tue Sep 02, 2014 7:21 am

What I did and why I did it:

Okay so I don't know a whole lot about this species so I used knowledge of what I already know.
Guessing this is an aquatic species I slicked the fur back, meaning the water would slide off easier when exiting the water and would keep fur out of their eyes while swimming. I made the cheek fins bigger, because I'm guessing they aren't necessarily gills, there for it would make more sense if used to make the animal look larger and fend off predators. I also made the hind leg fins larger mainly because it would make them a better for navigating. I added a back fin for the same purpose. The nose was changed to look and act more like an otter's nose, to keep water out of the nostrils while swimming.

I added a paw reference and a mouth reference. Since I don't know much about the species this is why I added them. The paw is webbed to help with swimming and the extra toe (Seen on best on the reference and the right fore paw) is used to help grip onto rock while in fast moving waters. The mouth is rather simple, many designed to help snatch fish or open clams (guessing that is their diet.)
