Yellowwing, a queen, had caught blackcough. It was sweeping through WaterClan, and her mate Eagleface, had also become infected. Not long after Eagleface caught blackcough, he died. Yellowwing became extremely depressed, but was still fighting blackcough. All the cats knew that she hadn't been expected to be alive by now, let alone actually have her kits. Somehow, all three of her newborn kits survived and soon Yellowwing recovered from blackcough. WaterClan had high hopes for the three kits, some truly believing that the three of them and their mother were blessed by StarClan. But the smallest kit was barely hanging on. It had been thought she would die soon too, but she started to become stronger. Yellowwing named her Risingkit, believing she was rising out of death's claws and was proving to her that life could move on. By the time Risingkit could keep up with Redkit and Briarkit, her siblings, Yellowwing died mysteriously. The little kit grew to be an extremely strong she-cat named Risingflight.

She's still very small. She reaches only about her siblings' shoulders when standing.
