joon stared the owl in its eyes, the little ball of feathers somehow cocking its head to the side. how peculiar, the young man thought, as he followed the owl's movements, eyes narrowing out of curiosity. they sat for a while, watching each other carefully - the rowlet was the first to move, its tiny beak opening to chirp its name once. joon blinked, reaching a hand out gingerly, not wanting to scare the pokemon away.

to his pleasant surprise, the rowlet shuffled closer, leaning towards his outstretched hand. it brushed its cheek against his palm, a soft sensation on his skin. a gradual grin grew upon his lips at the display; it wasn't long before the rowlet was in his embrace, joon stroking its soft feather.

"so you're coming with me, huh?" joon grinned. "i'm not letting you get away, y'know?"

the rowlet seemed to understand. it brightly smiled at his words, wrapping its wings around its new human, happily cheeping its name in response.
