Chosen Prompt: Write about a strange dream that this kal once had
Prompt Response:
The Ink Master was floating through an endless space, only half their body intact. The rest was a black mass of ink. The stars glittered miles apart from eachother. The swirls of space dust dusted their fur and made them feel like they were themself a body of ice as if they were one of Saturns rings. Everything felt cold but in a good way. He felt extraordinarily light and joyous.
Then everything fell dark. The stars disappeared one by one, the dust was blown away, even all the planets disappeared before their very eyes. It was like a mass void of nothingness. They felt colder now than before, a more uncomfortable chill that ran down their spine and gripped their skeleton in an icy grasped that was most associated with death. They felt scared, they shivered.
A light shone up ahead as a hole came into picture. The Ink Master flew straight for it and ended up in a unique world. It was bright and colorful and you could hear singing evrywhere you went.
"Welcome to HAPPYLAND!" a small pink fuzzy kitten with bulging sparkly eyes sang. The Ink Master blinked.
"What?" they said in confusion. "Happyland?"
"No say it with exhuberance. HAPPYLAND!" the kitten sang.
"HAPPYLAND is like... in my dream?" they asked.
"I don't know you tell me" the kitten ran off.
The Ink Master usually had less... pink dreams than this. The ground was soft like cotton candy, the sky was as blue as blue could get. The grass sprouted out in a way that it almost looked like long strands of confetti. The trees looked like lollipops. The bushes like fluffy clouds covered in gumballs. This place was a cavities nightmare it was so sugary sweet and sickening.
"Definitely unique" they pondered, "I wonder what else this place has in store".
There were cute little animals wandering about, singing. One was flying upside down. Such silly sights. A familiar face rose from the candy mists.
"Pip!" The Ink Master called out to the gray kalon that was prancing about like a joyful little mare. "Such good to see you old friend, how are you?"
Pip however had something about him that was off. Pip had a sickenly sweet smile on his face and his eyes were bulging wide and sparkly. He looked like a 6 year old's anime drawing.
"Helllloooooo friendoooooo" he sang in a happy little tune. "What brings you to my happy little land?" glitter came from his nostrils like a fire breathing dragon.
"Uh... quite. I don't know how I got here, or how you got here for that matter. Why exactly are you here and how did you manage to leave your world?"
"I have always been here don't you know?" Pip's head made a horror movie angle around. "They don't know!" he said and the creatures echoed.
Suddenly the land started to turn gray and everything started to melt away. The Ink Master stared in horror as their friend started to melt away into a mass of ink.
"We've always been here!" everything started to fade to black but morphed as it went along, turning to trees and vines. Suddenly they were in the wilds again, the only real memory they had of their home world. They were fighting for their life, cutting vines and branches, stumbling over rocks. They felt like a young inkling again, alone and afraid.
"Hello?" they called out.
"They don't know" they heard echoed over and over again.
"Stop it! What don't I know?" they cried out. The wilds seemed to spiral around them in a nauseating swirl of torment and agony. they screamed in terror.
"Don't let me go!" they flopped to the earth sobbing. "Don't let me go..." they covered their head with their arms. Suddenly everything fell silent and the world stopped spinning. They looked around and noticed everything was normal again... just an endless space they were floating in. They let themself be drifted through the endless void. It still felt too cold.
Another portal opened up, another blinidng light. This time they let themself go through peacefully, as they didn't feel fear from this one. This one seemed to lead to their home this time, on the world they decided to settle in. It was quiet, birds chirped, sunlight filtered through the trees onto the roof of the abode. The plants munched hungrily on plants. Even their favorite fruit was ripe and ready to be picked. They settled down inside and on their couch, staring off into the endless void in their mind. Something about that candy nightmare stuck with them.
"They don't know" they whispered to themself, a cold chill of unease running down his spine once more. "They don't know"
It was truly unnerving what had happened, but at least they were home again. Was all this still a dream? Could they figure out the answer somehow if they woke up? The Ink Master closed their eyes and willed themself to wake up from this dream.
When they opened their eyes they were lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling as sunrise declared itself upon the walls of their bedroom. The crust from their eyes forced them to close again and wipe a paw across their face to rid of them. Nothing felt any clearer yet. They were just as confused as they previously were about what had happened in that sugar coated dreamscape.
Sugar can give you nightmares, he thought. He looked down at the fruit he never finished last night, something new he had tried and wasn't certain if he liked. It had been sickenly sweet like the smell of rotting meat and he detested it, as it made his body reject it.
"Maybe that's what did it" he wondered out loud to himself. Everytime he closed his eyes he saw the face of his friend contorted and melting like a horror show. It terrified him and he tried blinking away the nightmare, but it stuck
"They don't know... they don't know..."
