These are only a few words that could describe how distressed I am feeling in my heart. My weeping eyes were locked on the stars that peppered the sky. I recalled my mother telling me about the constellations. I recognized Orion, the most brave and courageous Warrior of isket that ever lived. Then my eyes locked on the constellation of the Gemini Twins, the fearless Warriors of Isket that defeated an entire army of the Kronadors single handedly. I spotted the rest of the constellations with ease, me and my mother used to go stargazing every night before she passed away many years ago. Although this consoled me, it did not rid of the pain that resided in my heart. Yesterday, my mate, Tane, was taken captive when the Kronadors raided our territory. He was guarding his post, like the brave warrior I know he is. He was the only one out patrolling the border that night, Lord Rayo and his subjects had more important duties to tend to. While guarding, it is believed he was attacked. I heard his cry for help, as did many others, but we were all too late. Now I fear there is nothing else I can do for poor Tane. He is most likely as dead as dead could be.
Suddenly, as I was reflecting on my mate's imprisonment, a shooting star cascaded across the sky. My mother always told me,"If you see a shooting star, make a wish. It might even come true..." Her melodic voice echoed in my head. Before the star could dissapear below the horizon, I made a very special wish. I wished for my mate back, for I was heartbroken without him by my side. For a brief moment, everything felt magical. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and hoped to see my beloved Tane standing in front of me when I opened my eyes. I thrusted my eyes open, and instead of being greeted by my true love, I was startled by the face of an ugly, twisted Kronador. His toothy smile was smug and juvinile and his breath smelled putrid when he spoke,"You are coming with me." I screamed, but he slammed his horse-like paw over my mouth, muffling my cry for help. You could say my wish was granted, but the universe is cruel. I may get to see Tane once more before these horrific Kronadors murder me, but Heck, he is probably already dead.
I fought the powerful grip of the Kronador for most of the ride over the border, but when I entered the rival territory, my body went limp. It was a terrible place to live, compaired to the Warrior of Isket's territory. The grass was dead and brown, the trees were bare and diseased. Pools of sludge and toxic waste resided in plain sight. Mother Kronadors were caring for their sickly children on the side of the paths, they had no one and no where to turn to. It was as if the Kronadors were living in a wastleland that could not be restored. The thug-ish Kronador lifted me off of his back and onto the ground. Another of his species passed by, perhaps a guard. They spoke in a foreign tongue that I could not comprehend. Then, the guard Kronador hissed at me with his forked, serpent tongue and wandered off into the thick, polluted fog that enveloped all of the land. I was shackled by my kidnapper and brought to a strange area of the land where twisted branches formed a fortress, no, it was more like a dungeon. The Kronador opened my cell with tremendous strenght, motion me inside and then the roots and branches resiliently snapped back. He checked twice to see if the prision was shut for good and then, his expression suddenly changed from meniachal, to concerned and sorrowful. It seemed as if he was upset to have to imprision a living, breathing creature, similar to himself. Then it hit me, these creatures don't kill and fight for game, they kill and fight for life and health just like the rest of us. If he could have, he would have freed me from this filthy, infested cell in a matter of seconds, but he could not. He glanced at me one more time, and then left, like nothing ever happened.
I sighed in discontent and collapsed on the cold floor, sobbing and weeping until my eyes could not tear any longer. I did not have any desire and strength to live any longer. The Kronadors might as well sacrifice me now.
Strange enough, I spotted a shadow creep along the lining of the vast cell. I was not sure what to expect, the cell was large enough to fit around 100 Warriors of Isket. I spoke a feeble, "Hello?" The wind howled and the trees shook their bare branches. Finally a familiar voice replied, "Cinxia? Is that you?" My face lit up, I most definatly reconized that voice! It was the sweet and glorious voice of my mate, Tane! Tears began streaming down my cheek, but they were not the kind of tears that tag along with feelings of sadness, they were happy tears, tears of joy. I yelped at him, "Tane! Could it really be you?" He lept over to me and licked my muzzle. "Yes, it is really me!" He gleefuly replied, "What are you doing here?" "I wished to see you again, but my wish was answered by the wrong person. I was kidnapped by a Kronador the night after you were." I somberly said. "Well, it is not so bad. At least we are together," Tane reasurred me. "Even better, now that we are together, we can escape. I do not plan to rot in this cell for eternity." I courageously replied. "Sounds like a plan to me," he said as a sneaky smile crept across his face.
While we were waiting for the right time to execute our plan, I asked Tane, "So what do you think of this place?" "I really do not favor it much. It is very different from the land we inhabit, which is cheery and lively. Here its glum and dull." He replied. "I agree, but I don't think that we realize, they need our land just as much as we need their land. We could restore this place back to its lively state, and they could start a new beginning if they inhabited our land. I feel as if we are both fighting a war that will never be won, because neither side will ever give in to the other," I spoke confidently. Tane blankly stared at me, confused by my remark. He finaly replied, "You are most likely right, but why? Why do you feel sympathy for the Kronadors? We will alwasy be fighting and that fact will never change. In war, there is no room for sympathy!" I said softly,"Because they are just like us..." I came to my senses and raised my voice,"What am I saying?! I lost my grasp on our goal, escaping. What time should we depart?" He replied,"I think it would be in our best intrest to leave around midnight, when most of the Kronadors are sleeping." "Ok, it is settled, we will leave at midnight, sharp" I said strongly. Even though the subject of the suffering Kronadors was dropped, I could not stop thinking about it.

"Ready?"
"Ready."
"Now?"
"Now."
Ataro tore open the barrier of branches that surrounded us. I swiftly lept through the opening and he raced after me. I did not know where to start, I tried to retrace my captor's footsteps, but they were stale and faded. I attempted to follow his scent, but it had already mingled with all of the other smells and odors in the enviroment. Now, I was utterly lost in an alien enviroment, my mind was racing as I tried to remember any familiar landmarks. I was overwhelmed and nervous, I blindly chose to navigate the path that leaded westward. The fog shrouded many of the surroundings and finaly, a blessing, a familiar expansive field loomed ahead of me. I dashed in its direction, the lights of my civilization were distant, but recognizable. I briefly glanced back at Tane, checking if he was still close behing. He flashed me a smile, but his loving smile was answered by my grim frown, something was emerging from the fog behing us, and I was positivly sure it was the Kronadors. Right I was, hundreds of them were now pursuing us. I knew that they were out to kill this time, we now knew many of their precious secrets, and they could not allow us to report them back to Lord Rayo. They were closing in on us and I ran harder then ever before. It seemed like Tane noticed their pursuit too because he sped in front of me. We both were running for our lives, this was our last chance to survive this "adventure".
The boundary line was approaching, I knew that we would be safe if we managed to cross it, because other Warriors would soon be arriving to help. The Kronadors may also cross it, but they would soon be incinerated by our troops. Tane and I were homeward bound, Lord Rayo's den was close by. We reached his masterful lair just in time, adrenaline had now taken over me, my body was tryed and fatigued. I don't think I could have ran any longer. Lord Rayo was surprised by our presence, he greeted us with a lick on the head and bellowed,"Cinxia? Ataro? You are back? I assumed you both were dead. Well, all that happened before doesn't matter now, it seems like we have a battle to fight." The Kronadors had multiplied in number when our army approached the battlefield, back-ups were constantly arriving. Tane, being the loyal wolf he has alway been, spilled all of the secrets of the Kronadors to Rayo. We knew every chink in their armor, every gap in their defense. I felt a bit guilty, because now we had an advantage over them, for no wolf had been to the Kronador's territory and lived to tell the tale. Tane and I were now heros, but I did not feel like one. The image of the suffering Kronadors branded itself on my brain, thus, never allowing me to forget how lucky and glad I am to be a Warrior of Isket and how hard it is to live in the circumstances of the Kronadors.
