I have a lot of characters that I haven't touched, or even seen for a while.

For a while I could not think of what to do with the ones I adopted. I really wanted to do something with them, but what artwork to do? After reading this, I got an idea of what to do XD Thank you for putting this out there, for it puts realization into the eyes of those of who have forgotten, and inspires those of us who did not know what to do

I do agree that is sad how many characters are forgotten, and I've done it a lot myself, but I don't think it's just horrible, they are just pixels, they don't have feelings. Don't get me wrong, I do love my characters (Or, the ones I currently use anyways, sadly there are many characters I have never used) as more than just pixels, but characters can't actually feel sad that you've left them... You probably didn't mean that they did though.

Yes but for some people, pixels are literally all they've got.They're part of
someone's dream or imagination, therefore they can fully be 'alive' to that person. If you
read all that and just came out with that, I'm sad to say you missed the overall point. Wasting
someone's effort, creativity, and hard work isn't fair to the creator. So what if it is 'just pixels'?
Some people feel that way about animals, but I don't. Some people say that about school, but I don't.
I'm not saying you have to agree, and am in no way saying you should. I'm just saying that as an artist,
I feel insulted and crappy when characters I put in a lot of time or effort or care into go to waste.

I'm not so much saying characters have feelings, I'm asking people to be aware of what they
do to the artist who made them. Characters are parts of us, for alot of us they keep us busy,
and are something we use to help us destress,have fun, learn, etc. After all, people should be
responsible for what they take into thier lives. ;3

PaintLily, to some people they are only pixels, but I know that to me, they are very real.
To be honest, the first thing I thought when reading your post was of Pyro, reading it and starting to tear up.
Why?
Because he is one of the characters I own that I absolutely adore for their personality, but who still has no name. Because I can't think of one that fits him that I haven't already named someone, or that's original.
I mean sure I could call him "Red", "Magma", "Fire", "Flame", "Lava", "Volcano", "Ash", or any other name like that, but it doesn't fit. It's not... him. My characters are very real to me.

Remember how a lot of people fight over religion and belief? I realized that the same could very well happen here. On this thread.
I... I'm not sure how to describe it other than confusion that PaintLily couldn't see that, then anger that they didn't. I'm honestly trying to not explode on anyone though.

I understand and I do think it is very sad how many characters are forgotten, and I love mine like they're real too (I have teddy bears that I think of as alive, they aren't characters, but still), I'm just saying that they can't actually feel and also that I figured you didn't actually mean they had feelings. I didn't mean they're just pixels as in 'oh whatever they're just pixels it doesn't matter' or 'don't be so emotional they're just pixels' or anything of that sort, I only meant it isn't an extremely awfully terrible crime to forget your characters, it is very sad, yes. I hope you understand I meant nothing against you or anything of the like. I am sorry if anything I have said seems to be rude, I do not mean to be.

I have 2 characters that I never give up on, those characters have friends which are also characters, I try not to forget any, They're all still resting happily in my mind at the time, I'll try not to forget them, for you! I try not to forget adoptables either :3 Anyways, I hope NOBODY forgets about they're characters.
